I inspected mine further and have the same Issues with my hattet version like Doggie :( My painter said, while fixing it...it would take off too much of the Material on ears and chin! Also I have a crack on the upper head and printing lines on the hat.
@Waruna Weligamage I would love you to send me a new one please...this time without those issues and also packed very secure.
I can send you this one back but need your adress...also I can`t afford shipping fees at this moment :/
Thanks

what is this crack you mention on the head?I didnt get any complaint from you like that earlier. Are you referring to the mold line?

I didn`t saw that...I only took a quick look at him back then...I mean...the hat covers it so...but this adds to the other errors (Sry for my bad englisch)

If I had the funds will gladly take any of the full head no matter what, the artist did a superb work..I always expect to do some fit and finish in every HS I have worked on. This one is one I REALLY want since am a big fan of the character and actor, but personal problems have made it difficult for me to buy it.

So now I have to wonder if we will see this completed before Chronicle Collectibles releases theirs.

A valid concern, but that is literally just a prototype. Grant was shown in the past and then never materialized, so I don't see a release date on the horizon anytime soon.

They had issues with ACI, the company they were partnering with. If you saw what they said about Grant in the last day or two, it's a new sculpt and newly tailored outfit and will be available soon to order. That doesn't mean soon in hand I realize that, but it could still be before we see this project completed with the wait time on the outfit. They said they are also moving forward with Conan.

Oh! No, I wasn't following the conversation but I did peek into the thread and saw someone posting that it was the old proto and stuff about ACI falling through.

But this is actually a new figure? And Chronicle is going to be offering it for PO? That's big news then. I'd be in for that since I missed this run.

I have everything but a good shirt, sculpt and the pouches and gear for his belt.

First of all, that Conana they showed is God-awful terrible.

In terms of Grant I totally get the concern... but even if this is out first there' no way a Yunsil outfit won't be far superior. I'm content waiting. And maybe if the price is right I get it and then mix and match for the best version possible!

Oh, didn't know that. Pretty cool that Chronicle keeps working on this then.

Same thought. (y)
And yeah, YunSil's outfit will be superior, no doubt. Much more time that goes into each set for sure. Hard to compare.

Received my sculpt today.

Overall I'm happy with the likeness and the appearance of the hat. But i did have a few issues I want to bring up as constructive criticism.

For one the sculpt and hat came in plastic bags with no packing material inside whatsoever. Mine arrived unbroken but rattling around every which way. A little newspaper or bubble wrap would have made me feel a lot better.

Number two, the sculpt has support points all over it from the 3D print. I would have expected these to be sanded off before being sent for casting. They are present on the sculpt on the chin and ears, as well as on the hat.

Just some stuff i wouldn't expect and to maybe try to improve upon in the future.

@Waruna Weligamage
Not only on the chin & ears. There's support on the right eyebrows, right nose, & inside the left nostril. For me, the worse part is those lines on the hat.
Even if I sand them, I think they are still gonna leave a mark/remove the hat texture. At this point I might thinking to get a fabric/leather hat from somewhere instead...

The likeness is amazing you did a hell of a job there, but the cast is the worst I've ever seen. I'm sorry for saying that, but my expectation was high because you are one of the top sculptors in this hobby.
Hope to see major improvement in the next project. Thanks.

Thanks a lot brother. I learnt the lesson from the hard way in this case. surely the end product quality gonna be better in the coming projects. I was too much concerned on delivering the goods but forgot a main issue. With the second time doing hats made things further delayed and with the pressure i got even people were knowing why the delay were too much. I know its not an excuse but thats why i still offer replacements for the heads. And for the hat print lines is something i cannot help with as its a disadvantage in the 3d printing witch can be a plus or minus. But I did learnt the lesson here.

I just got my sculpt in as well. This issue is not with the casting but with what was given to the caster. Usually the master print is cleaned up before it goes to them. Casters always cast based upon what is given to them, So instead of needing to sand one head now every single casting has to get sanded.

The hat also has bad lines on it, which I dont think are from casting but from a bad printer. It may be better to send the model out to get printed by a higher resolution printer, and then have that cast up. Also the thatching on the hat is very inconsistent and distorted, which is a result of modeling. The way it looks now will only look worse with paint on it.

Things improving on the next project does not help us with this project in particular. I know hiccups happen, but for $120 I am left with a heck of a lot of work and a hat that needs a redo.

Again i get your concerns and i keep telling for everyone who needs the replacement its available. So I dont think it needed to be tell are addressed continually. I have already said and apologized about the mistake and willing to replace the heads. I dont know what else i could do here.
