Re: ORDERS OPEN Kylo Ren - Adam Driver Portrait 1/6 Scale

Hi everyone! The last batch of casts that were defective have been remade and will begin shipping out by the end of the week. We received a few extras too, so we'll be sending out invoices for those to the next customers in line this week. Thank you!

Re: ORDERS OPEN Kylo Ren - Adam Driver Portrait 1/6 Scale

Awesome! Can't wait for my invoice!

Re: ORDERS OPEN Kylo Ren - Adam Driver Portrait 1/6 Scale

This is such a great sculpt. Very happy with mine. Orders are still open? Rather tempted to buy a second... Could paint 'em up as a battled-damaged Kylo with some blood on his face!

Random question I've been meaning to ask (and keep forgetting to do so!) - when you get a custom sculpt that has a tiny spot/bump or two that's not part of the skin texture, do you guys just leave it, sand it down...? Most of my custom stuff, as well as some official products (especially my stuff from Big Chief), sometimes have a minor, acceptable imperfection here or there, and I usually don't touch 'em. But I'm curious if others ever futz with these imperfections.

Yes, we're still taking orders. :)

Re: ORDERS OPEN Kylo Ren - Adam Driver Portrait 1/6 Scale

Quick update - mailed out a few more orders this morning. If that's you your names is in italics on first post of thread and shipping notification has been sent to your PayPal email address. We'll be shipping more later this week. Also, for new customers who placed a preorder this weekend, I'm trying to catch up from the long holiday weekend here in the US, so I should be getting your name added to the order list later today. Thanks!

Mr. and Mrs. Creg, Thank you!!! This is outstanding!

Now I need to research which type of paint to use, which colors to use, techniques, and how Hot Toys makes their eyes so precise and lifelike. Looks like a couple of people have already figured those things out! It would be awesome if said master painters could share some tips and wisdom!

Sorry for the big ol' grainy pic. :(

I just use cheap $1 acrylics haha Just mix your paints well, layer and thin them down. I'm far from perfect, but it's simple with some practice. Except eyes. Those suck.

Thank you for sharing! Regarding the eyes....yeah....I've imagined such. I figure maybe I can find some tiny dowels that are the right size for corneas and pupils which I can dot the paint on with. Then I figure there should be some type of clear gloss to make the eyes look wet. Aaaarrrgh.....

Re: ORDERS OPEN Kylo Ren - Adam Driver Portrait 1/6 Scale

the easiest method for starting out is to use round toothpicks. if you snip off the very pointy tip. it will leave you a nice round shape to play with. dab paint in, move it around. do it in layers. dark DARK first... then lighter colours slightly smaller in... when all done. a small dot of black in the dead center... and you're done! then gloss coat!!
