Re: legend (lord darkness) first round shipped- 2nd round fourming now

Greetings.
It's the same head, but the image of the page one is the previous to get the full kit.
She already shows painted and fitted, really incredible.
I say this because I did the sculpture. Do not worry.

Re: legend (lord darkness) first round shipped- 2nd round fourming now

I don't have my Darkness parts yet... but I got started working on the costume. This is just on a stand-in ACI body as my Kaustic is currently in pieces for dye.

I'll probably lengthen the width of the cape to get more of a drape at the arms and back, but I'm very happy with how the shoulder pieces turned out. They are just fabric glued over a cardboard shape and I sewed about 20 or so interesting looking strings to them (the strings are sewed at the mid-point so it ends up being 40 or so dangling).

I then glued some rhinestones and a bit more of the string to the tops. I'm trying to approximate the look of the PF... but with a bit more flare.

For the rest of the outfit I plan to sew a set of pants, sculpt a codpiece and then make a belt. I also need to add some beeding detail to the wrist cuffs. Lots to go, but a fun project so far :rock

Looks amazing. Puts mine to shame. What kind if string is that. I struggled to find something decent

Re: legend (lord darkness) first round shipped- 2nd round fourming now

Inspiring stuff glad to see the lack of a tailor hasn't stopped you guys.:clap
If you can give any links to materials you used in the uk that would be nice.
If not I'll manage hunting through the hobby shop and charity shops for remnants.
Been slacking sorting payment but its a priority now after seeing these:)

Re: legend (lord darkness) first round shipped- 2nd round fourming now

Thanks everyone... I don't know the exact names of what I used; I just perused the craft store and grabbed stuff I thought would work (in total I spent $35 for fabric, stringy stuff, etc.)

I used 3 kinds of strings; one was a fringe like thing that I just cut the strings off of; the 2nd was just a wrapped bit of string that was near the chrochet area and the last (and my favorite) was a "bead trim" that came in a spool.

If anyone likes I can post some pics later; and if any one is in need I should have a crap load of this stuff left over once I'm done so I can probably hook some people up :duff

HOOK US UP!!!....i would love to know what exact items were used...please...:)

Re: legend (lord darkness) first round shipped- 2nd round fourming now

Cool... luckily I actually kept track of numbers when I was sewing this together :lol

I'll keep working at it, but post some pics of materials (some of which have packaging with brand and name on them) later on today :duff

Re: legend (lord darkness) first round shipped- 2nd round fourming now

Hey Emma, quick question... do you have the measurements and shame (if just a rectangle, or if there are other angles) of your cape?

I love how yours drapes and the shape looks spot on :duff

Re: legend (lord darkness) first round shipped- 2nd round fourming now

Damn that looks great GB i'll be happy if mine looks half as good as that :)

I cant wait to get back on mine as i haven't done anything with mine all week.

Re: legend (lord darkness) first round shipped- 2nd round fourming now

Well your body looks a damn site better than mine... I tried RIT dye and it led to really dark connector joints and barely any coverage on the rest of the body :lol

Really should have read the tutorial in more detail :lol Hopefully when I go to paint I can blend out the issues :huh

Re: legend (lord darkness) first round shipped- 2nd round fourming now

I did repaint mine in the end anyway...but yeah the joints are the main think so you can still move the fig without the paint being rubbed off :)

Re: legend (lord darkness) first round shipped- 2nd round fourming now

Yeah, the joints are verywell dyed on mine :lol I think in the end it will look fine, but the base color you got was very impressive.

Re: legend (lord darkness) first round shipped- 2nd round fourming now

Yeah i was suprised myself :) it was a bit dark though and was proving difficult to get an exact match when painting the head and hands. In the end i done a shed load of layers on the head and hands and then a different watered down red to meld it all together.

Re: legend (lord darkness) first round shipped- 2nd round fourming now

Cool; can't wait to see what yours looks like painted up... I found this image at BluRay.com and thought it was a nice one to use as reference for painting his face... although I may opt not to paint one eye wonky :lol
