Mel Gibson (Older) Sculpt?

Any interest in getting a high-quality Mel Gibson sculpt, in particular an older version of the one and only Mad Mel?



This is only an interest thread to see if there are enough interested parties to get this one commissioned (hopefully via Zbrush). Rocco (SSF ID: Rocco) has expressed an interest in doing it.

Always been a fan myself, so interested, but I got to ask though...Why old Mel? Big fan of The Beaver?

I'd love a younger, original Lethal Weapon era Mel with full on mad eyes and mullet.

The Lethal Weapon 2 look Iminime went with never really did it for me.

I'll add you. Older mainly because it hasn't been done yet! Plus just look at the way he's aged. It would be "easier" for a sculptor when the subject has that much character in his face. Plus, this sort of sculpt could potentially work for Mel from 1999 to present.

You should check with Snyder-man and see if he would be up for this. His Mad Max is the best version of Gibson as that character, and his Riggs and William Wallace are very solid as well. Plus his unpainted castings are still going for $45 with free shipping within the USA. That makes them half of what most other sculptors are charging. You wouldn't have to get 20 people to commit either as I have seen them do sculpts with only a few request and no commitment to buys.

This thread is just to see if there's enough legit interest in a Gibson sculpt, especially a version of Gibson that has never really been done. Once enough interest is there, I would love to get a finely detailed sculpt made. Gibson, in my opinion is a very hard likeness to capture, which is why I think a Zbrush sculpt would be the best option.

I was just offering a suggestion, for whatever it is worth. Looking at all the Gibson sculpts that have been produced, Snyder-man has come as close as anyone else to capturing his likeness and has done it a couple of times with different characters. Also I'm not a believer in more detail + zbrush = better sculpts. I liked Rocco's work better when he was still doing traditional sculpts in wax. Either way I am interested in seeing where this goes as an older Gibson would make a cool bash. Good luck with making this happen.
