Re: Candyman & Friend (Mr Wonka): Monty productions Clothes by Yunsil new sculpt by M

Just thought I'd throw it out there, for whatever reason if Mike can't do the cane, I can do it if need be. :)

Mike that would be awesome I didn't think you'd be able to do it! Mike said he couldn't do the cane so If you could that would be awesome any chance you could add the silver emblem?

Here is the best of what I could get! I cannot make out what that emblem is! So if we get Mike on Board, I am imagining this would be a brand new cane right? The rocco one looks messy.

Wow perfect screen grabs! I think you are right in the middle mike it looks like there's a W haha!

Well it may be too small to translate anyways right? But hey I am all for artistic license and putting a w in the middle haha. But at least now we know proper color and shape. It is definitely not super shiny like on the rainman cane that is for sure. And the color looks much more ivory than white. Either way it was fun to play " spot the cane" lol

Re: Candyman & Friend (Mr Wonka): Monty productions Clothes by Yunsil new sculpt by M

The handle definitely looks to be ivory. The emblem while silver on the outer portion, looks like it is gold on the inside of it where the W is (assuming it is a W). Artistic license, no problem.

Re: Candyman & Friend (Mr Wonka): Monty productions Clothes by Yunsil new sculpt by M

Agreed the handle is defiantly ivory....... Can't really make out what it is but we could probably go with a W.:rotfl

I love how everyone is jumping in and helping it means a lot. This rate it's gonna be 100% :')
I suggest to mike sculpting Wonka without a neck as he's going on a kumik slim it means it would be that little bit more poseable. :)

Is this still open or closed?

Are you sure about that? I tend to prefer heads that have necks....sometimes that joint drives me nuts, but it's up to you. If you go that route though the neck will have to be painted as well. The kumik neck is an odd pink color. That's why I think it's not worth it. Sometimes for me it can make a difference between being real and being a toy.

I didnt like it that way on the rainman version....notice the mismatched flesh tones.

Personally for this piece I'd feel it's the right way to go especially when it comes to poses getting the head tilt wouldn't be possible if he had a neck. Indeed the necks would which I couldn't seeing being a problem, in saying that I have spare hot toys necks that would work the same because they are the same fit.

The head tilt is a key feature especially for this if it was another character then it wouldn't be so bad.
What does everyone else think?

I tend to agree. I prefer the sculpted neck as well..

So, I was thinking about the height of the Oompa. If Gene was 5' 10" and Rusty 4" 2", do we want their height in 1/6 to be 12" and 8.25"? The Oompa would be 3/4 the size of Wonka. Although correct for the movie, is that the size difference we are shooting for? Just want to make sure.

Having no neck does give articulation but I find the form factor less desirable. All my favorite sculpts for the most part have necks sculpted on.

As for the Oompa height, I think this is a good ratio. I think Rocco did a good job with the body proportions, etc. mathematically the height makes sense as well. Look at how Peter Dinklage compares in height on game of thrones. I actually think rainman went too small.

Agree on the neck.

Being that the RM Wonka/Oompa is the only in hand comparison I can make, I think we tend to base our size expectations on those two figures. His Oompa may be too small and ours may be perfect. As for overall body size, going back and looking at the Oompa sculpted body, it is pretty muscular. With clothing on, he may look like a body builder.

Re: Candyman & Friend (Mr Wonka): Monty productions Clothes by Yunsil new sculpt by M

We'll see how the sculpt goes I'm unsure at this point about the neck the neck post I isn't the main issue because if we went that root they could be painted..... The issue is now finding hands for holding the cane :rotfl

I hope he doesn't look like a body builder:rotfl
Jake sent the body to Yunsil for tailoring so my guess is she'll start work when she gets the body.... However long that maybe :dunno
The height seems pretty good for me when comparing him to other 1:6 figures it stood about the right height.

The latest and best other toy comparison I can draw is the upcoming 1/6 Tyrion Lannister. He stands at 8.7" tall, which makes our Oompa Loompa actually shorter than that. As far as his body proportion I actually think it looks good. Little people tend to have shorter / thicker arms and legs. I think this body with a slightly bigger head (normal human sized) we would be good to go.
