Re: Miami Serial Killer Kill Set @ Shapeways

i am in for a set, thanks laney...

Re: Miami Serial Killer Kill Set @ Shapeways

Polished silver (not recommended due to a little post purchase work needed), stainless steel, aluminate - polished, dull- check them out

Wouldn't polished silver be the best? What kind of work are you referring to?

I was looking at aluminate polished but it takes off 0.1mm of the surface. Not sure if that would effect the look of the blades.

Man, thanks for modeling these. :lecture

Re: Miami Serial Killer Kill Set @ Shapeways

The white has a textured finish due to the printing process which does need either sanding or I would recommend spray putty / primer (automotive) to even the surface, prior to painting.

I would think the metal finish is polished after production by hand which would probably deal with this.

Re: Miami Serial Killer Kill Set @ Shapeways

I'm interested in the knives and knife roll!

Hmmm.. Not sure which option to print the full set with.

Yeah the Silver polished is hand polished out. I suspect that will look the best. The aluminum one is hand polished but like I said it takes any 0.1mm of the surface. A lot of the options warn of some print lines and "stacking" effects due to it being printed in layers.

Any word on separating the kill knife to print by itself? I'll gladly print in Silver polished if you can make that happen.

This is wicked, I was about to start trying to make 1/6 versions of these with actual stainless (would have been a pain) now there is no need. Thanks for this!

I have been playing with creating a set of kill tools. Losing interest, so thought I would offer as is.

I have uploaded a base model for a full set of knives, saws and shearers

These do not have fine detail - ie saw teeth due to the small scale, but will provide a basic printed model that can be sanded and filed - then painted.

Good job!:clap Could you do a 3D model for the Dexter's slice box also? Thx!!

I ordered the white set. Impulse buy. Should've waited until it was updated with new options to make the knives out of.

Very curious to see how they stack up against my 1:1 set.

Are these gunna be available for a bit? I don't wanna miss out on them , but i'm broke for the next few weeks . Depending if any of my sheeeeeet sells
