Anyone know how many shipped in the first batch? :)

How does that spot look after scratching it off? Any imperfections in the hair?

Yeah, before I send my payment I'd like this answered. Don't want a sculpt with an imperfection. Any way this can be corrected in the casts?

The "spot" is the pour stem. You'll need to dremel it out with a small bit and patch it with 2-part epoxy putty like Aves or Magic Sculpt. A dental tool will let you match the grooves in the hair.

Re: Night's Watch- SNOW [Updated Print Pictures] By Vimal Kerketta

The problem is the pour stem shouldn't have been in such a noticeable spot. I've never gotten a cast with residue or a spot like that. Haven't gotten mine yet and I'm hoping mine isn't that bad.

We shouldn't have to dremel and resculpt these. I hope this isn't an issue with all the haired casts.

Re: Night's Watch- SNOW [Updated Print Pictures] By Vimal Kerketta

I've gotten plenty of neckless heads with the pour done in that exact spot, including Vimal's Dark Adam. It's the best place to put it if you want the face to be free of flaws. Vimal's neckless sculpts are printed with the bottom already hollowed out and sized for the socket, so the head is actually a cup-like shape. Getting the resin into all the details without bubbles can be tricky. That's probably why so many casters do it that way.

Vimal has arranged for printing, molding and casting to take place here in the U.S. to keep shipping costs down and turnaround time quick. All things considered, I think he's come up with the best possible arrangement. If he was having everything done in India, he could probably touch up each head, which is what Trevor Grove used to do (his neckless heads used the same pour spot as Vimal's, but he did his own casting). But that would make Vimal's costs and our wait time go up.

When I get mine I'll see if I can't get a visual tutorial up. It's really a minor operation.

The guy I use to mould and cast has never given me a cast with a pour spot or seam like that. Just saying. I've used him multiple times and the casts have been flawless. I'm not saying this is Vimal's fault, but some kind of heads up should've been given. Or a new caster used.

@Gruff Old Bear your absolutely right about that and you explained very well about the situation. Hair is the best place to hide Pour spout. And about the caster, i will not be changing him. He knows well what he does and this the best arrangement i can have. If it was casted upside down it will look like this.

Hey Vimkerk, can you update the list and confirm my PM with details?

Oh and the caster can't washer the head before sent it?

Re: Night's Watch- SNOW [Updated Print Pictures] By Vimal Kerketta

it shipped from CA, think thats why I got mine so quickly.

there were some imperfections in the cast to be honest, there was a verticle line around the center of the hair all the way running down with a stringy plastic residue. Luckilly, i was able to pick it off for the most part with an exacto knife, and Im sure will not be noticable once painted. Still, thought it worth reporting so future casts could be improved

I'm in california too and havent received mine. I wonder if the bald sculpts are shipping later? any info would be much appreciated.

Got mine in yesterday - looks great! head is the perfect size.

The flashing on top is not half as bad as it appears in the photos either.

Hopefully I didn't make a mistake by paying already lol. ;(
