Re: Once Upon a Time in the West Frank - PROJECT FINISHED

That's really nice. Can't wait to start putting this together...

Re: Once Upon a Time in the West Frank - PROJECT FINISHED

Just looking at the holsters at Stevo's Toys - I haven't ordered from there before, does anyone know if there's a standard waist size for holsters to suit a TTM-19 with pants? Lots of options to choose from on the website... if there's no standard for 1/6 I might have to wait until clothing etc is assembled on the body then measure and order I guess.

Hey Mr. E, can I ask which body you are using here?

Sorry about the delay. Its one of those narrow shoulder knockoffs with the sculpted neck. They're on eBay for relatively cheap. Still not sure if I'm going to use it for Harmonica though. An extended Bruce Lee would be preferable, especially in the way the sculpt fits at the neck.

Thanks Mate, I do have one of those bodies on the way to test. I had no luck with the neck fit on a TTM-19 knock off and the same with the coo-models body. The Narrow shoulder one will do the trick for now. Cheers.

Re: Once Upon a Time in the West Frank - PROJECT FINISHED

I'm going to try one of the DAM muscular bodies. I've used it for the Medicom Daniel Craig and the Headplay knock off neckless Will Munny head and it works perfectly for heads that are a bit on the small side.

UPDATE
I also received the sample from spoonflower. I redid the pattern on the jacket (an ODD pattern) the lines are to scale, and its in the fleece material we need. Let me know what you think.

Everything looks great. I'm interested to see how the jacket comes out.

Re: Once Upon a Time in the West Frank - PROJECT FINISHED

Thought I might try my hand at painting these and if they don't work out I'll send them off to someone when I have the funds.

I found a tutorial on youtube and worked out the basic steps to follow along. I haven't really done any painting before other than some blood and mud on a few figures so there's lots of mistakes... and I'm not really sure how to mix the colours to achieve the correct skin tones yet but hopefully the issues won't be too visible in the end. Luckily Harmonica's skin is like an old leather chair anyway so it's probably a good place to start.

I don't have a paintbrush small enough to tackle the eyes, I can't even get into where the whites of the eyes are properly so I might need to put this on hold for a while but here's where I'm at so far with Harmonica.

Re: Once Upon a Time in the West Frank - PROJECT FINISHED

looks great so far....which tutorial are you using? Also there are very realistic decals available for eyes (the great Jacob Rahmier has even used them). I will try to post some links a little later. I would love to see Jacob or any of the great artists out there post a tutorial sometime as there are not enough people right now to meet the needs of all the amazing custom heads being offered on the forum.

It was the one with the Captian Kirk head, and I did watch a couple of others in the week or so before I tried this that were fairly similar... just explaining about primers and dry brushing and so on. It's good fun I'll definitely keep at it and see if I can build up some skills. I bought some of the eye decals from Hunter to try them out - Harmonica's eyes are so damn tiny I think this might be the way to go. Thanks for sharing the link, very much appreciated.
