I personally wouldn't worry about it, as this seems to be Rainman's profession, and he would be crippled from an economic POV if he pulled a fast one on anyone. And nothing in his past behavior I know of suggests that there is anything to worry about apart from having to wait a little while.
Having said that, things do happen that folks can't anticipate, and it has happened with others with good intentions in the past. If you don't have total trust in someone you are dealing with, and expect that it will take over 45 days to receive whatever it is you are paying for, then it is best to pay for your item with a credit card, so you can be protected for longer periods of time if something goes bad.
Rainman did pass word along to one of his buddies here that he was in China and so things will be a bit delayed. That's one of his primary means of communication, so it really serves the same purpose as an e-mail.
