What's that got to do with it? Is it a **** swinging contest, because if it is offering up my collection of 1/6 action figures as measurement would be lame as ****.
Let's just say I've bought from him before but I'm not an ultra fan boy and won't just buy anything he decides to make. For me, the largest part of my decision making comes down to whether I rate the film. Didn't buy Dracula because the film itself is awful. Think Dumb and Dumber is unimaginative, lowest common denominator crap and I won't suddenly hail it as some classic 'grail' just because RM is considering turning his hand to it.
Ok, it's your thread and you might buddy up to the artist in question but that doesn't mean everyone has to fawn over anything you or he ask for interest on. You said he wanted to gauge interest, not hear only from those interested.
I love the film but seriously these aren't worth Rainman treatment IMO, much better suited for Yunsil/Inigo.
MacReady should be done next or Raoul Duke as he's been in the running for years now.

All I'm sayin is I see that most (not all) of the guys saying "pass" dont even buy his stuff anyway and probably wouldn't even if he was making something they love. So to me all ur doing is getting in the way. We're all not going to agree on a specific fig. Macready is literally the worst choice IMO. But whatev. Again just gaining interest

Stiff, fair enough (although how you can say with any certainty who does and doesn't buy his figures is beyond me). My original comment was merely to say I personally wouldn't be interested because I can't stand the film itself. That's it. I've got no intention at all of littering up the thread with negative comments, crying about the choice (if he makes these two) or trying to p*ss on other people's party. I'd be a total hypocrite if i did, because I complained about people doing the exact same thing over Regan.

I don't think a lot of the guys that showed interest in Macready were die hard Rainman fans, some of them are. But the thread did have over 30 guys interested in it

Easy pass for me... I always thought this was a corny flick. BUT, if this is what rainman is going to do... more power to the people who will enjoy this set. Will surely look great no doubt in my mind. I'll watch from the sideline and enjoy the process from concept to reality as I'll await another release. Props to those who want it.
Being a fan of RM shouldnt have to be the ultimate pre-requisite. Surely, RM will gauge interest from his faithful pool, and I'm sure he'll hold those opinions in high regard, especially since his rabid following deserves some sort of recognition in terms of direction headed and input. But that shouldnt deter him, or sway him to make one choice or another ultimately.
