Being a fan of RM shouldnt have to be the ultimate pre-requisite. Surely, RM will gauge interest from his faithful pool, and I'm sure he'll hold those opinions in high regard, especially since his rabid following deserves some sort of recognition in terms of direction headed and input. But that shouldnt deter him, or sway him to make one choice or another ultimately.

I agree. I was just stating the facts about the Macready thread. As it was commented that the D&D interest had surpassed Macready when i don't think that was true. I'm on the Macready interest list lol

Yeah true. The Macready thread is mostly different people stating interest, while most of this thread has been the same three people saying 'interested' and the others being ambivalent/not interested in the project.

I haven't been an assistance to Rainman in over 4 years so not really sure what you're implying to be honest.

The fan base speaks for itself. Macready is insanely popular, as is Raoul Duke however Lee may not want to do either of these.

If he actually expressed interest in this FIRST and wants to do them, more power to him. They will surely sell but I have no interest anyway. I don't buy Rainmans work these days.

If D&D is something Lee wanted to do, so be it... let him do it. I can stand on the sideline and watch others get enjoyment of releases. Lets also keep it real in terms of how these projects get selected and initiated.

Duke has been thrown around with great support for way longer than MacReady has. Armysoldier (who doesn't come around much anymore) organized a spread sheet in the RM wishlist thread over 3 years ago. He took everyone's top 10 RM choices, pooled them together and generated the top 5 of everyone's collective picks. The top 5 were: Anton (as #1; this is how he came to life), Bateman, Torrance, Bickle and Mickey the Pikey (Snatch). Duke just missed the top 5, and that was going back quite a bit ago. Now that 4/5 of those characters have already come to life, I bet Duke would take the top or 2nd spot if we did something like that again.

That system definitely needs to be re-established. I personally don't have a lot of interest in Duke but he deserves a go based on all the love he's got here over the years.
