It does for a very simple reason. So much fight for figures and then they are sold even before he ships his figures sometime. So it hurts you know. Many lose out because of that.

Also / I agree his Dracula was a good release. And once again am a big fan of his. Some of the best stuff is from him. All I am saying is he is not where he was in the pre jack Torrance era.

But - I am supportive of him making what people like! May be with less folks chasing for stuff he will have more bandwidth to spin better stuff

Once again. I always watch the threads cause he is a guy with a unique eye and creates something different. So kudos on that!

Ah, I see what you're saying. I guess so, but Gunslinger wasn't sold out for days (maybe a week?). I think if you know RM's website, have an account etc, you'll get figures easy enough :dunno

I remember being desperate to get my filthy paws on that Drac set - stayed up late and got it easily. In fact, it sold out the next day and then went back into stock a lot of times over the following couple of weeks.

I do get your point though :duff

People should have the chance to get them at the original price, but that's not the case with a lot of things - like Cultking too. Took me ages to find and get added to their email list :lol

Agreed. The good part, i think it's lot more easier these days to collect what one wants. Quite a many options! So that's the better part of the hobby!

Leon, I agree with much of what you said. I have not made a purchase from RM since Torrance, may have skipped a few before that one too. The subjects just don't interest me very much. The Gunslinger is something I would consider since I love western figures, but the likeness is off enough to keep me away.

with so many better choices you wonder why rainman makes some of the figures he does, nobody has re-done jaws since trevor, a patriot gibson has a ton of possibilities, interview with a vamp. is being done, so thats out. the godfather, can get more epic than that. a young howard hughes i would like, maybe some more historical figures, amelia earhart, al capone, youll never know unless a list and vote is cast....go outside the box..

I still think he needs to visit some musical figures: Hendrix, Jagger, Morrison, etc.

Imo this is pretty out of the box and a refreshing choice. Seeing all the negativity towards this choice just shows that, too many people want Lee to do such mainstream characters. Obviously in terms of business it might not be the best choice but in terms of doing something different and new while also classic and a well needed Actor represented it hits the nail on the head for me. Preordered and paid since day 1. Looking forward to this.

:exactly: :goodpost:

Like I've said a few times - Lee needs to do what he wants first and foremost. Even though people are negative about this one, it still sold out. So, his "business" isn't suffering because he's choosing not to do mainstream stuff. Besides, the license holders would be more aggressive and protective with a lot of people's suggestions of what characters he should do.

Been tuned out for a bit and missed this in my little hiatus. Not a fan so I can't speak about accuracy, but as an outsider it looks like a pretty awesome set.

I wasn't even familiar with the movie (didn't realize there was an original that the series is based on) but after catching the trailer it looks pretty cool. Can't hate on The Man when he keeps it niche & cult!

Im very much looking forward to this figure. Went with the H&C set, just couldn't understand why Lee gave the FS no exclusive and gave the DX the Burned Sculpt and Bust. IMO the burned Sculpt would of been a perfect FS exclusive with the DX still coming with both the Burned Sculpt and Bust.

I wonder when we're likely to get these. I always ignore the 50 days Lee marks on them. I don't know why he even puts that on when he knows he has zero chance of getting them within that time, but it would be nice to have a realistic guesstimate.

I guess he puts it there because he has to put something there :lol. But that was never a real turnaround time that any of us ever went by. Especially now that he's juggling more at one time than he ever has with Bill V3 just shipping now, WW & Sam both in the works, and Elephant Man confirmed. The usual turnaround time was 3 months, give or take.

Pop. You're killing me. No Blade Runner and no Westworld?! Say it isn't so!

;)

:lol:lol I was a latecomer to BR, but fell in love with it nonetheless. Shame on me for Westworld! Have to hunt it down on Netflix or On Demand

I agree with a lot that was said here about the bust, and the continued use of busts in general. This one in particular may be an exception because he said it was easier this way to make the mechanics and details, but normally I agree with the lack of interest in busts. It was cool for Dracula as something different, it makes sense here, but for Norman, if he included something 1/6 that pertained to the figure (like a jacket & another accessory) rather than the bust, I probably would've jumped in instead of passing.

Seeing how the majority of collectors have expressed wanting alternate sculpts or accessories over 1:1 items or busts many times, he should've made the 2nd sculpt the DX and left the bust as stand alone and Grand Package item.

Yeah, I know, I've bought before. Like I said - I always ignore the 50 days, but wondered why he keeps putting that estimate on when we all know it takes months. A realistic estimate would've just been nice is all.

Only busting chops, Pops. The original Westworld is pretty obscure and definitely cultish. Better late than never mi amigo.

Better late than never, but never late is better. I'm slackin' ova here!

Back to the bust talk, I forgot to mention the one that started it all! Pazuzu was by far the most fitting to be made in bust form, and one that I really wish he would've sold separately

Don't set your expectations high. It's no Blade Runner, to say the least. But it was directed by Michael Crichton, oddly.

Yea, that was pretty clear just judging from the trailer :lol. I think I pretty much know what to expect. I assume it didn't age well either but it's a great concept and seems like an old cult must-see
