Please not forget this man has gone through terrible times in personal life.

For some this may sound like an non valid excuse, but he still wants to pleases his customers and completed this project.
Be assured the sculpt will be adjusted and shine like all of his work.

Still conflicted about this one too, have yet to send payment and I normally do within the minute I put it on order. Outfit looks good to me but sculpt is among the weaker I've seen from him. I'm amazed everything is sold out, I wonder if he didn't just shrink the edition size, everything VIP was still open and available until the public spots went up and I've never had as easy a time securing a HC as this one. Even had time to add the head and clothing into one order without getting cart jacked even once.

Mother does look great and I grabbed a clothes set (because Yunsil) but I'm holding off on the sculpt for now until I see the revision. The game has been upped by some of the sculptors out there as well as the paint apps being driven by Rahmier and a horde of great painters picking up some of his realism tecniques. You don't expect this kind of work on a Hot Toys release with quantities in the multiple thousands, but on a limited run of 50-100, from people (really companies) who have a reputation of being "the world's best figure makers" - and for the prices charged - you have to expect more.

There were people on FB defending Lee - as if he were being personally attacked instead of his work being criticized. This is art, but art is a business like anything else. I don't hate HT as a company because one of thier products is lousy. I WILL criticize it and probably not buy it, but I don't hate the comapny. And as to someone suggesting personal situations for this release; I sympathize, but this would not be an excuse for me in my business and shouldn't be an excuse for a sup-par product.

Maybe this has been a thing for longer than I know, but the trend of "order now and it will look better/be changed when it ships" seems to be a regular situation now. I've recently ordered a few sets whose final paint/sculpt hasn't been shown yet or was shown just before shipping began (and at least in one case, was pretty dissapointing).

If it were me, I would invite a select group of people - other artists, people whose opinions I trust - to give feedback on prototypes. Do the tweaks and re-works out of the publice eye and have a final product to show shortly before it goes on sale.

Guys, right now the right thing to do is just send to lee how can he fix the head, he said that he will change, so let,s just wait for the modification

I think it's fair. If this sculpt was put out by anyone else it would be being crucified.

The whole release feels rushed and once again relying on a sculpt tweak after you have to buy is not good. Just feels he has lost his flair.
I don't get that impression. Head sculpt is a bit off, but he's always been hit or miss on that front, so nothing new there. But the mother is a phenomenal piece, up there with Regan or anything else he's done IMO. The big issues here are: 1) not as popular of a character as other figures; and 2) headsculpt off. A lack of accessories I guess, but there's not much else you would expect here.

so unusual for a R/M thread with no strong interest and everyone already
thinking of the next release :)

After Dracula released the bar was raised to high, and this one IMO is his weakest released so far.

He should do something else, Like Edward Scissors hands, american werewolf in London, interview with a vampire stateless and louis.
The last Samurai Tom Cruise. He has done many horror movie characters, He can try something else.

Well everybody is waiting for Norman's head modification, and I am 100% certain that he will get there. He did an amazing dracula headsculpt which is harder than norman, we will be surprised with the final product and this thread will be stronger than ever

Mother is really done well. The problem is would a fan buy only the Mother without Norman?
I think if the eys on Norman was bigger and Lee painted the forarms , this release will be a knockout.

It feels very strange to not have been a part of an RM project for the past three releases. For several years, he hit on many figures that I was interested in, but lately, no interest. I wish Lee would lead the way and be the first to do some music legends (Hendrix, Morrison, Beatles, etc.). Yes, I know Johnny did Freddy Mercury and Serang did Hendrix, but those were such small runs and Lee would kick a** with the accessories.

Well, despite the lukewarm reception on here, these seemed to sell out quicker than Dracula, the Priest and Regan. Whether the edition size was simply lowered or there's a number of people sat on an order and yet to follow through with payment, I wouldn't know. There's nothing currently available apart from the sculpt and there hasn't been the constant flow of sets suddenly appearing, disappearing and reappearing as there was following the last couple of releases...as yet (I think one DX and one Norman full set popped back up briefly).

I eventually caved and coughed up for Norman, figuring I'd only ever be displaying him in full on murderous drag mode anyway.
