wasnt taking it personally. just sort of using myself as an example of what i believe to be many on the forum. there are so many movies worth seeing and everybody's got different taste.

Glad to hear you didn't take it that way, didn't want to offend. Sometimes I think people are trying to draw attention to themselves by bringing up some relatively unknown character. As if we should all know who the person is because they do. It reminds me of the movie Good Will Hunting. Specifically the scene where they are in the bar at Harvard and the guy with the blonde hair tries to make himself sound important by bringing up obscure references to make himself sound like a big shot. Again, not referring to anyone specifically, or even this thread, just a trend I have noticed.

I think this would be right up Rainman's Alley.

No weathering needed! :lol

As a matter of fact it better be squeeky clean and inspection ready in-hand :exactly:

Squeaky clean of course! The Semper Fi would have it no other way!

M14, jelly doughnut, pointing finger hand, "this is my gun" grip hand, baton. Decorated jacket and shirt. DX alternate sculpt. Would be amazing if Robbie did garbage cans; now I'm just dreaming

I can't believe that this never gained momentum. The movie is brilliant. It's Kubrick for Christ's sake. Not only the best Nam flick IMO, but one of my top 10 all timers. It even has enough popularity that Sideshow made multiple R. Lee Ermey figs. And we can't get anyone to help Hartman get the treatment.

Everyone in this thread needs to get their heads and a$$es wired together, jump on the team and come on in for the big win...

@kara: great call. i'd much rather see some sellers strangelove.
not to be a party ****er but if it's shining torrance then i might get another breather--which is fine by me. love the shining but not really dying to see another version of the character; definitely other nicholson performances that deserve doing: one flew over the cuckoos nest, gittes from chinatown(tho this is getting the treatment elsewhere already), the missouri breaks... just tired of the same characters having to get the treatment from every custom artist. too many other things to choose from.

speaking of which, why has brando never been done in the custom world? would love a stanley kowalski from 'streetcar' or terry malloy from 'on the waterfront'.

One of the best quotes from the movie, love it! I agree with you on Brando. Streetcar Named Desire, On the Waterfront. How about The Wild One? :clap

Brando from either would be amazing... not sure why no one has done his younger self 1:6 justice. he's one of if not the greatest actors who ever lived.

Oh I really Like MG's and Spenser's Dark Helmet, especially since I own Spenser's and have MG's 1/6 Dark Helmet dolls haha but I just think Rainman would kill it!

This would be neat.

Really hoping for a more mainstream figure choice this time. Something like Jason Bourne or Alan Grant from Jurassic Park would be swell!

100000000% to a Rainman Dark Helmet. It's right up his ally as far as sculpting ability and would make an excellent shelf popper.
