yeah i agree. but with this in mind, you cant tell me john hawkes as teardrop in winter's bone wasnt distinctive. or casey affleck as the coward robert ford. and not to hate on the shining cuz it's a great movie with a stellar performance ffrom nicholson but as far as figures go, it's a little typical. there are like ten different versions of him out there already. and not that i wouldnt be happy for everybody that wants another one but i also would love to see rainman take on great characters that are less obvious. i mean in the end it's tough even trying to pick a few to champion with so many amazing movies having been done--i mean, really, how does one choose?--but i think maybe the overwhelming nature of having to make a choice ends up locking collectors in a certain pattern. it's like every customizer has to do the same characters: eastwood blondie and the gang, blade runner deckard, aliens marines crew, and so on.
even to stick with legendary actors, like nicholson or brando--who oddly hasnt been repped in the custom world, which i think is insane--one could go with the shining or go with something less well known but also amazing, like 'the missouri breaks': i mean nicholson and brnado at the height of their game in the same movie. actually brando said of his pinkerton that it was his favorite of all his performances.

:clap You hit the nail right on the head, Its about distinctive characters. Anton for sure is instantly recognizable without being mainstream. That combination works well for these custom choices.

I can only speak for myself, but I have never heard of John Hawkes, Teardrop, or Winters Bone. Casey Afflek was good in the Jesse James, but really not an iconic figure that I would want to see on my shelf everyday.

Nothing against anyone here, but some of the obscure characters that are mentioned for 1/6 figures is completely beyond me. I really can't tell if the person making the suggestion is serious, or is making some obscure suggestion so that they sound cool or different. Not talking about anyone in particular, just an observation.

Personally, I would love to see Rainman do Miller's Crossing, but I don't seriously suggest it because I know it's a pet favorite of fairly boring looking guys in suits. I wouldn't realistically expect Rainman to ever do those guys, and know many would pass if he did.

why would it be an attempt to sound cool or different to make a suggestion that youve not heard of? i'm a movie fanatic. it's what i do for a living. it's whgat i do for fun. and i watch as much as i can.
winter's bone was a movie from 3-4 years ago or so. did really well. you should check it out. teardrop is a serious, scary badass. and john hawkes is a fantastic actor.

I am one that feels Rainman should enhance some of his past figures.

As great a figure as Bill is I believe an Amsterdam is in order. I have yet to get my hands on Bill (Always bad timing)

Amsterdam might not have been a strong a character but you put both of those next to each other on the shelf and it would pop even more.

I don't own a Dude (probably never will), but how awesome would Jesus and Walter be next to him?

Doc is a great figure and Ringo would be the cherry on top.

I'd like to see Rainman tackle more Oompas. Those with Fullset Wonkas deserve an Oompa on their shelf and those of us with DX don't mind more Oompas.

Maybe a 3-pack offering of different Oompas :drool

I say I am not interested in a Dandy Bill, but I take my own comments with a grain of salt on that one. :lol

Mad Max would be awesome

D.I. Hartman

A lot of great suggestions mentioned.

He has expressed interest to come back here sometime. Especially "The Jesus" I'm all for it!

The ones I would have a massively hard time passing on

Amsterdam
Dandy Bill
Deckard
Torrance
Burgundy
Pikey
Hanna
Mccauley
Randle Patrick ''Mac'' McMurphy
Saul (Pineapple Express)

What I would like to see

Mad Max
Jesus (Big Lebowski)
Walter (Big Lebowski)
MacReady
Llewellyn Moss
Gary Oldman Dracula

I'm really liking the suggestions that are being brought up in the last couple of pages! Companion pieces to go with figures he has already done would be great. Llewellyn Moss, Jesus and some more Loompas would be fantastic! (I would also be in if he did the alternate Bill the Butcher)

Did you read the entire post. I wasn't referring to you as far as being cool. My reference to you was that I had not heard of the movie, the actor, or the character. I watch as many movies as I can also, just stating an opinion.

wasnt taking it personally. just sort of using myself as an example of what i believe to be many on the forum. there are so many movies worth seeing and everybody's got different taste.
