I could care less about the PCS MacReady, I want a RAINMAN MacReady. I want the Yunsil Outfit, Lee's Sculpt and accessories. Also while Trevor is great the teaser pic doesnt look so great, yes I know it could just be lighting etc and we havent seen it fully yet but just going off of what I've seen it doesn't look great. As far as Nathan painting the proto, that means nothing, because he won't be painting any other figures made of MacReady but Lee or Aeon WILL paint MacReady depending on your purchase option.

I haven't really voiced my opinion strongly here as of late, I had no interest in Regan but I was cool with it because it was unique, creative, and I was very excited to see Lee work his magic. But MacReady is a figure I really want, and not just any MacReady, I want a Rainman MacReady, of course this is all my personal opinion but man all I can say is I'm really hoping he considers it.

Don't know about anyone else but I'd love to see Lee make Captain Willard, Martin Sheen, from Apocalypse Now.

A character never made in 1:6 yet by any other customizer (too my knowledge anyway) and likely never to be done in licensed form.

I watched the film last night. The Redux version which I prefer for the extra footage. The movie is a masterpiece and takes the viewer on a deep and dark journey. the intro.. With 'The End' almost puts me into a trance every time. I'm not sure if Lee is a fan of the movie or character but I sure hope he is.

He's doing the Gary Oldman Dracula which is also a Coppola film so it'd be kindve appropriate as its succeeding release.

Oh yeah, the opening seven minutes of the movie is some of the most electrifying film I've ever seen.

Apocalypse now is brilliant. On the fence if I need a figure(s) in my collection but a home run piece could easily seal the deal.

Personally, I don't see anything amiss with people debating/assessing/shooting the s**t about the merits of a possible character choice in a wish list intended for people to put forward ideas as to what they themselves would like to see. As you say, people have their own preferences and not every suggestion is going to make others think "I would sell my sisters pants to sick online perverts to see a 1/6 version of that". Some people are instead going to say "Nah, not for me", "I don't get it", or "That would be about as appealing to me as Annie Wilkes saucily winking whilst stripping off her size absolutely massives".

It's just their own take on the subject matter is all. Not an attempt to piss on someone else's parade. It's only a problem if people become overly precious about the suggestions they've put forth. In this instance for example, Phine responded exactly as one should, by simply stating a strong case as he sees it.

If, on the other hand, this was a thread for a release that had already been confirmed, then I can understand how such comments could be construed as needless negativity or simply trying to throw a spanner in the works and take the shine off it for other people. See the recent Exorcist release for an example of some naysayers not knowing when it's gone past time to stop.

As for your admissions of youthful 'dabbling'.....an old acquaintance say's hello:

Haha Naked Lunch! I haven't watched that in years. Need to give it another look. Of course it's not on Netflix so I have to hunt it down on disc.

Of course, in scenarios like you mentioned the clear intent is to shoot holes through the idea, and I know that's not what's going on here (well, sort of because the "who's more deserving of being next" feud is brewing :lol). I just get a kick out of it is all. When someone can't fathom why someone else would want a certain character but then within the next week, few days, or even in the same breath, they offer up an eyebrow raising suggestion of their own.

Clarence and 'Bama.

I can't understand who the hell would want those two?!?! What we need next is a Williams & Damon duo from Good Will Hunting! Or DiCaprio from Basketball Diaries!! Figure worthy and long overdue!! Those would set any shelf on fire!

:lol:lol:lol

All in for the love birds :rock :rock

I'm in if Duke is made [emoji3]

Check out this guy popping out of the woodwork! :hi5: :1-1:

1) internet pics? Have bickle and have Torrance dx - both to me have major issues (only saving grace is the trike) - reagan never wanted , priest - wanted - but easy pass.
2) I have heard collectors will cry and die if they miss out on a certain release 3 times in a row!
I think many are actually thankful they dint buy some of the stuff! Some are even available still and no one is crying or dying and even trying to get those.
3) everyone is a fan of lee and that's why everyone is here! However, when something is off its off / no matter who does it.

Finally - kudos to him for doing these (reagan, priest etc and that in itself is great - that is for those who want them) . If someone is not fond of a movie or character - how does it matter who made it! - for some of us these were easy passes and not an iota of regret. Period.

I Cleary stated if duke was being done as a license figure I would have the same issue that I have on mac ready. I actually am a bigger fan of Mac ready than duke and hence would like to surely see the license version first. Is Trevor doing it for sure? Cause then, I don't see any other sculpt Coming close! Even if not - I am willing to see the final output by whoever does it.

I definitely agree on a lot of that. As much as I love the Jack DXX, it's hard to ignore the scale issues that hit every part of that set from Danny to Jack to the twins, right down to the axe and boots. While the Bickle sculpts are off, I'm one of the few that do like them, mainly the Soldier sculpt. As an accessory lover, Bickle is my kind of Rainman release. Iconic cult character with detailed accurate accessories, and neither the character nor the accessories are easily found on the market. I also love the Regan offerings, and I grow fonder of my V2 every day as I love how it looks on display, but there's no denying that the sculpts don't look like the majority of what we saw on screen. They have a fair resemblance to both of the head spinning animatronic puppets (V2 even moreso than V1), but they don't look like Linda Blair. In that way the heads are a very artistic representation of the character, but it's a sick release and I do love them all for what they are.

So if we're being honest whether it be Duke, Mac or anyone else, we know Yunsil's outfits and RM's accessories are going to outdo anything that a licensed company will mass produced. So we could almost bet the house on it from the shoulders down, but it's the neck up that is the question mark. We don't know what PCS is capable of in 1/6 format yet but like you said there's some give and take between custom and licensed stuff. There are things that the kings (or queens) of the custom world can create that will always outshine mass production, and then there are some benefits of mass production that customs lack and suffer for.

I have to agree with the timing too. It's worth seeing what PCS is capable of before everyone gears up for a $1000+ DXX. We've already seen HT and other mass producers release certain characters that made everyone start listing their customs for sale

^^^ I relate to many of your points! And again brilliantly put! I just wish I was that articulate!

And to that note I have NEVER sold a single rainman Figure I have! Like you rightly said its either the accessory or the yunsil outfit that keep me holding back! All I meant was there is a definitive masterstroke in many of his releases like butcher 1 and 2, steinfield, wonka, Anton, plain view etc! I somewhere benchmark his work against his own work!

Having said that there is no distant second to the lee and yunsil marriage!

Finally- at least for dx shining - I think that trike of Robbie is one class piece of act! That alone drags in the swag for that release!

Robbie always surprises me - Pleasantly- some of his stage work on Facebook / drop dead / breathtakingly gorgeous!

MacReady is still very high on my list but this also would be a sure fire win!

Captain Miller - "Saving Private Ryan" Tom Hanks

-One of the best war movies ever made IMO
-One of the best actors ever
-Lee has never done a war figure
-The only other version done was by Serang and is crazy hard to find plus was done ages ago.

Captain Miller is a good shout, but I would prefer these two

Wardaddy

Lt. Aldo Raine

I know that Willard's look from the climax of the film would be really really difficult to make, but in a crazy dreamworld of mine I have this on my shelf :rock

We're on the same page here, man. This would be my dream come true as well. I'll purchase any version but this would be the definitive look for me.

My most wanted military figure

2 Head sculpts; one mildly angry, one yelling bloody murder
1 rifle
1 baton
1 garbage pail
1 jelly doughnut

Fully decorated shirt and jacket! I think he'd make a sick figure, but he's another one that I'm next to alone on

An Apocalypse Now Sheen would be awesome, but I think that it would be somewhat bland and difficult to find a body for, especially the mud version which is by far the most visually interesting look. He has a very average body type and trying to use a typical 1/6 muscle body would look awful.

I have said that I would be totally down for a Hartman, less so for Miller and actively turned off by Wardaddy, as I hated that movie.

Yes! Hanks from Saving Private Ryan would be a great figure, especially considering the actor it represents.

Mike, I agree with you on Good Will Hunting, one of my favorite all-time films.

That's right, you're part of our small and lonely group :hi5:. I think Army said he was in a few times way back when. Now we need like 45 more and we're in business.

If I can get another 45 with me behind Mickey & Mallory, then I can really scratch a few grails off the list :lol

Sorry Steve, I was just being a smart ass on that one :lol. I love Good Will Hunting too but the point I was trying to make is (for my personal taste) there has to be more to a character than just loving the movie/character for me to find something figure worthy. There are tons of movies that I love (Boogie Nights probably at the top of this list) that I just don’t feel will translate into interesting figures worthy of custom prices. Don't get me wrong, if someone like Blitzway came and made a Dirk Diggler that looks as good as their Carlito for that same price, then something like that would probably be an exception to the rule.

I'd possibly be down for a Hartman, I'd love to see a figure from just about every Stanley Kubrick movie for that matter. As far as war movies go, Apocalypse now is probably at the top of my list though.

Not even if he had the 13 inch dong as DX item? :monkey3

No worries, I was actually agreeing with your point. I love the movie, but neither character would stand out in the collection. Damon dressed in his t-shirt and jeans could be from several different characters, wouldn't be specific enough.

Stuffed dollie pants are a pretty sick accessory. Screw it, I'm in
biggrin.gif

We need more Hartman love! I think with 2 sculpts, just the 4 accessories I listed and some HT hands with the proper gestures, he'd be a great figure with awesome pose options.

Too bad he doesn't get much support around here. He's in the long overdue list IMO
