Apocalypse now is brilliant. On the fence if I need a figure(s) in my collection but a home run piece could easily seal the deal.
Personally, I don't see anything amiss with people debating/assessing/shooting the s**t about the merits of a possible character choice in a wish list intended for people to put forward ideas as to what they
themselves would like to see. As you say, people have their own preferences and not every suggestion is going to make others think "I would sell my sisters pants to sick online perverts to see a 1/6 version of that". Some people are instead going to say "Nah, not for me", "I don't get it", or "That would be about as appealing to me as Annie Wilkes saucily winking whilst stripping off her size absolutely massives".
It's just their own take on the subject matter is all. Not an attempt to piss on someone else's parade. It's only a problem if people become overly precious about the suggestions they've put forth. In this instance for example, Phine responded exactly as one should, by simply stating a strong case as he sees it.
If, on the other hand, this was a thread for a release that had already been confirmed, then I can understand how such comments could be construed as needless negativity or simply trying to throw a spanner in the works and take the shine off it for other people. See the recent Exorcist release for an example of some naysayers not knowing when it's gone past time to stop.
As for your admissions of youthful 'dabbling'.....an old acquaintance say's hello:

Haha Naked Lunch! I haven't watched that in years. Need to give it another look. Of course it's not on Netflix so I have to hunt it down on disc.
Of course, in scenarios like you mentioned the clear intent is to shoot holes through the idea, and I know that's not what's going on here (well, sort of because the "who's more deserving of being next" feud is brewing :lol). I just get a kick out of it is all. When someone can't fathom why someone else would want a certain character but then within the next week, few days, or even in the same breath, they offer up an eyebrow raising suggestion of their own.
I can't understand who the hell would want those two?!?! What we need next is a Williams & Damon duo from Good Will Hunting! Or DiCaprio from Basketball Diaries!! Figure worthy and long overdue!! Those would set any shelf on fire!
:lol:lol:lol
All in for the love birds :rock :rock
I'm in if Duke is made [emoji3]

Check out this guy popping out of the woodwork! :hi5: :1-1:
1) internet pics? Have bickle and have Torrance dx - both to me have major issues (only saving grace is the trike) - reagan never wanted , priest - wanted - but easy pass.
2) I have heard collectors will cry and die if they miss out on a certain release 3 times in a row!
I think many are actually thankful they dint buy some of the stuff! Some are even available still and no one is crying or dying and even trying to get those.
3) everyone is a fan of lee and that's why everyone is here! However, when something is off its off / no matter who does it.
Finally - kudos to him for doing these (reagan, priest etc and that in itself is great - that is for those who want them) . If someone is not fond of a movie or character - how does it matter who made it! - for some of us these were easy passes and not an iota of regret. Period.
I Cleary stated if duke was being done as a license figure I would have the same issue that I have on mac ready. I actually am a bigger fan of Mac ready than duke and hence would like to surely see the license version first. Is Trevor doing it for sure? Cause then, I don't see any other sculpt Coming close! Even if not - I am willing to see the final output by whoever does it.
I definitely agree on a lot of that. As much as I love the Jack DXX, it's hard to ignore the scale issues that hit every part of that set from Danny to Jack to the twins, right down to the axe and boots. While the Bickle sculpts
are off, I'm one of the few that do like them, mainly the Soldier sculpt. As an accessory lover, Bickle is my kind of Rainman release. Iconic cult character with detailed accurate accessories, and neither the character nor the accessories are easily found on the market. I also love the Regan offerings, and I grow fonder of my V2 every day as I love how it looks on display, but there's no denying that the sculpts don't look like the majority of what we saw on screen. They have a fair resemblance to both of the head spinning animatronic puppets (V2 even moreso than V1), but they don't look like Linda Blair. In that way the heads are a very artistic representation of the character, but it's a sick release and I do love them all for what they are.
So if we're being honest whether it be Duke, Mac or anyone else, we know Yunsil's outfits and RM's accessories are going to outdo anything that a licensed company will mass produced. So we could almost bet the house on it from the shoulders down, but it's the neck up that is the question mark. We don't know what PCS is capable of in 1/6 format yet but like you said there's some give and take between custom and licensed stuff. There are things that the kings (or queens) of the custom world can create that will always outshine mass production, and then there are some benefits of mass production that customs lack and suffer for.
I have to agree with the timing too. It's worth seeing what PCS is capable of before everyone gears up for a $1000+ DXX. We've already seen HT and other mass producers release certain characters that made everyone start listing their customs for sale
