*RUN CLOSED* 1/6 Randall Patrick McMurphy: H&C set Caine & Geewhiz.

Why are the jeans so loose? Shouldn't they fit the ttm-18 without padding? He was skinny.

Yes, he is generally a small guy, but actually his thighs were not that skinny.
Remember these first pictures on TTM-18 clone. They had thigh pads and boots,
and you can see how they fit.

Plus my TTM-18 is a World box and has thinner legs, so standard TTM-18 should fill it out more.
But as I stated a few posts back, they were made to be able to tuck in both shirts plus thigh pads
and depending on body, small belly pad may be needed to complete the look for accuracy.
But for sure thigh pads was always the plan.

If I use the World Box, I will have to use a belly pad.

That's why I showed it on the TTM-21, so you could see that fit.
I may very well go with the TTM-21 with modded arms and side
of chest plate, so the arms lay correctly. Or make a hybrid.

He wasn't skinny actually, he always had a fat ass and thick legs (no pun intended, Jack;)...
That said, jeans maybe still a bit loose even with padding, and also slightly too long. Maybe there's a possible shrink process (by washing it, like real jeans ?), but not sure to to take the chance...

Re: 1/6 Randall Patrick McMurphy H&C set by Caine and Geewhiz

Here he is on a TTM-21, no thigh pads, but with small mid-section/belly padding.
I was able to tuck all shirts in and it fit perfectly at the waist. Thighs still a little loose.
I put on some hands and newline boots, but didn't have feet...LOL
So the pants look too long, but they're not. With feet and pants pulled
up correctly, it will look better.

Arms still a little stiff for me.

I'm going to try TTM-18 again with more belly and thigh pads to see how it fits.
I think it should work out better. And the arm articulation and layering should
be much better as well.

They look too long because they're not pulled up all the way.
Once I got the mid section/belly suit on, I could pull the pants up
and they would stay.

But I think I can get the ideal look, just got to work with
the shape of the padding. So it may take 3-4 try's.
Even the thighs should look correct when I'm done.

:yess:

Here's the revamped TTM-18.
Much better arm movement and layering. Keep in mind
the boots are flat, so some of the slack will be gone.
But I think I'm pretty close with the padding size and shape.

"What are you doin' here? You oughta be out in a convertible
bird-doggin' chicks and bangin' beaver".

I will try to ship out the first batch this weekend.

I was just trying to show you different options so you
know what to expect.

Plus I was going to weather one of mine so you can see that as well.

I personally prefer to see your weathering first before you send it, Ike...

I got a mcmurphy sculpt painted by YH HA, pm me if anyone is interested only looking for cost + shipping

I'm trying to get the look just right...for me.
I think I'm really close. Got the thighs, waist, butt & belly just about right.

I will go through the film one more time to get the right worn/weathered look
and then I will let him have it.

I'm actually really excited now. Everything is in-hand(for me..lol) and
starting to take shape. This is the time I love most, even more than
the research part. When it all starts to come together.

Got an exceptional painter to do the real hair and paint app on the head.
Outfit is starting to look just about right and now all I need is the custom
leather boots....** Pokes you know who **.....:stick:lol

First dry rub pass for weathering started.
This will dull down some of the shine and mark some spots for
further applications.

Even though they existed in the film, I don't think I'll be adding the holes
in the pockets and fraying on the sleeve ends. I think once I'm finished
with the regular weathering, that will be enough for me.

Also, tomorrow I'll take some pictures in natural light so we can see
the effects better and how they look naturally. A lot of it doesn't
show well with my desk light..:lol

What are you using to do the weathering?

I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you...:lol

Most people don't believe me when I tell them.
But I stick mostly with all natural things to weather with
and have been for more than 10 years now.

Ash & charcoal: for grays and blacks
Sand & dirt: for tans and browns.

Then a slurry of paints, thinners and some of that stuff
above thrown in to get different tones.

Though I shouldn't need to use any slurry mixes this time.
Just a little dry and wet mixes, maybe some thinned out tan paint.

Even with just that light first run of weathering, in-hand it looks so much better.

Good to know, I was thinking about giving it to the dog to play with, but your method sounds better.

Okay here another weathering treatment. First set of pictures in natural sunlight.
Really brings out the color and weathering on the jacket. For some reason, it's
doesn't bring out the jeans. So second batch of pictures are under my desk lamp
so you can see the jeans.

I still have to darken the cotton waistband and sleeves.
But I think it pretty close to finished.

So everyone that has an outfit, let me know if you want the weathering.
I know some prefer to do it on their own and that's fine to.
Either way, weathered or not, I will try to get them all shipped next weekend.
Of course the people that want to do them on their own, will get shipped out sooner.

Thanks
Ike
