Thank you on behalf of all of us for leading us through this project! It's about time Bogie got his due recognition on this board, and your efforts (and the sculptors excellent work) have produced a wonderful likeness. I believe that those that happen to run across this thread is the future will want to jump on board...!

Looks good to me...both the size of the head as well as the neck length..

I am using the DID Gangster John suit.

Looking at the Daco suit, the pinstripes are not parallel to the lapels. Additionally, the bright white pinstripes make the Daco suit look too garish, like a loud gaudy gangster suit, instead of Bogie's Sam Spade suit. The pinstripes need to be more subtle.

Technically Spade's suit is chalk-stripped. The woven-in pattern on the DiD suits does not really capture its soft, continuous nature either.

So-maybe we still need to make really correct chalk-stripped and soft capture suits for this sculpt?

Here's a proper chalk stripe that Yunsil did for Jack Nicholson in Chinatown.

Very close obviously, in fact the films are set at the same time, but single-breasted, not double-breasted.

All the more reason to get Yunsil on this. Obviously with this period specific suit and simple yet very important design we'll need the top quality around + bogart deserves nothing but The Best.

Well, I just got the DID Gangster today. Should have by early next week.. I can always sell if I think it's not up to par...It looks pretty close to me..

It really doesn't seem that everyone is onboard or at least on the same page as getting a custom suit made.

Pop Toys is excelling at suits right now. They've found a way to make lapels lie very flat, and the jackets are shaped nicely before being shipped. The Kingsman has nice stripes as well. But it's also a modern twist on a classic, and it's short at the waist for Sam Spade.

The DiD one won't look like the prototype photos. The lapels will be double-sided, bulky and shapeless, and won't look to be in scale.

If a Yunsil initiative doesn't come together, I'll be using the single-breasted Chinatown suit Star Puffs posted above. If everything works as it should, all anyone is going to look at is the portrait. And the bird.

I have the DiD Walter Bishop figure, which appears to be the identical pattern with a different colour pinstripe to Chicago John. It's a very nice 1:6 suit actually.

In fairness, I think most people would notice the single-double breast issue before they observed the anachronistic waist, although if you already have the Gittes suit, then I'm sure it will look fine. I'm going to wait for the Kingmen set to hit. If it works, I saves a lot of money, even if Yunsil would undoubtedly be a tier above.
