Re: The G-Ride (Pee-Wee Herman's bike) calling for deposits

Except he doesn't know which is why he asked us what we thought was fair. He asked a couple of times what people thought was fair I was just the first one to suggest a price why don't you read some more. He also asked me in a pm what I thought was fair price and to post my opionion on this thread, so sorry for having the stones to actually be the first to make a suggestion.:peace

I already made a $40 dollar deposit and if that is enough for gary to continue this project than no need to up it to $80. The WIP pics will speak for themselves as far as the final value. If he hits it out of the park then Gary would be able to command a higher price. If its a miss well then you might have people wanting to drop off the list if the price is too high.

Its too early to tell right now, but I do love the progress so far :yess::yess:

I apologize if I offended you. I didn't mean you shouldn't post your opinion or that you were wrong. I was only curious how you came up with the number and then posted my own opinion.

Looking good Brother! I think $40 is more than a fair price for a deposit. You have really grown a lot of strength in your sculpting skills since you first joined here. I support you a 100% Gary! I have enjoyed watching this thread, it reminds me of my days of restoring/ customizing bicycles.

Re: The G-Ride (Pee-Wee Herman's bike) calling for deposits

It's all good, I just know for a fact $40 doesn't even cover the cost of the bike which is getting hard to locate at a decent price. Some people were complaining to Gary that $40 was too much which I think was justified to ask for a sought after item since he was shelling out the cash to start this project. $80 I thought was fair for the people reserving it and for Gary since he's already purchased the bikes.

@bigbrocha,

Bro I totally agree with you. This is rare that you see this kind of price for a deposit on a custom.

Yeah I asked him to post his opinion to get you guys talking, I'm a fair and open person, that’s why I wanted to wait until I finished one before setting a price.

I think Garys asking price for the deposit is more than fair. As for what his final pricing will be. I don't think you can really know till you complete the first bike. It's all your blood, sweat and tears going into this G-Man. So in the end you have to make this choice. Not asking for suggestions. I think all your pricing for previous work has been more than fair so I know whatever your gonna charge will be what it's worth. Keep up the good work brother! :peace

That's a pretty good price for a limited custom like this. Anybody doesn't want to fork over the $40.00 deposit should go to the bottom of the list, IMO.

Re: The G-Ride (Pee-Wee Herman's bike) calling for deposits

Just been to the engraving shop and talked to the guy about some small metal “Property of Pee-Wee Herman” plates for under the seat, thought it would be a good idea to have the option of your User name or real name, when I’m ready to order them can everybody let me know:wink1:

Re: The G-Ride (Pee-Wee Herman's bike) calling for deposits

Gary, would you consider selling casts of your newly sculpted parts as kits? The impression I'm getting is that this will be $200+, which has me a bit hesitant in buying one fully put together. Thanks.

Looks fantastic, by the way. You know I'm a big fan of your work in general :hi5:
