Thanks everyone! I've really been enjoying the work on grant. Ill hopefully have some final pics by tonight.

Here's a WIP on the hat. Plan is to have the hat and both sculpts done and molded by the end of tomorrow...we'll see what actually transpires. Lol

Looks great so far! :clap Did you sculpt it twice, so one extra for the hatted version? Think I'd decide for the hatted Alan but can we decide once you casted the first?

For the hatted version I made a quick mold, cast two heads in wax and then lopped off the top of one and modified it to receive the hat. I'm working right now to get a good seam between the head and hat, after that its just cleaning the hat up and molding everything up.

What type of wax do you use for casting?...just curious

I used to use willow products before the owner stopped making the stuff. What I'm using now is Ralph's wax. not as good in my opinion, but it works.

Funny you should post about this, I picked up the sculpts last night to do some work on them, and I'm just about finished. Putting the final touches on the hat and They'll be ready for molds.

Sculpt looks good. I would say the only thing I can see is the hat needs to be closer to the ears and sit on the head a bit lower.

You know, I was a conscious decision to make the hat as high as it is. The reference I took from the movie looked high, but I think you're right, I'm gonna bring it down a bit.
