The spear tip is going to put it over the top, I think. I can't wait! I just hope the green color is good. In the movie it obviously glows, which won't be the case here. In the WB tour pics it is almost a deep, emerald green, and I think if I try to make it too bright to emulate a bit of a glow it would look silly... like it is neon or something.

New spear tip made! And I have formed a nice, secure way of attaching it to the spear body. Only thing I have to come up with now is the little metal rings around the base of the spear, but this is it for my work tonight. Hope you guys like it!

I had a little extra time so I molded the spear tip. Should have a green translucent spear tip by the end of the weekend/beginning of the week!

Spear tip is curing as we speak! Unfortunately it's a 24 hour cure time so nothing until tomorrow. If I have time I will try to paint the spear body today, though.

Me neither! I was pleasantly surprised at the resin color. I thought it was going to be a tad darker, but I think it will be just the right shade of green.

So I got my first casting of the spear tip. It looks awesome overall, but there are a few issues that I'm frustrated with and I'll need to work out. My original silicone mold was ruined as the resin stuck to the mold and ripped it apart. This has never happened before with anything else I've cast so I'm annoyed, but I think if I just use mold release next time I'll be good.

If you look closely you can see a lot of little bits of rubber stick to the spear tip. It's also not as clear as I was hoping for, but I'm hoping that was just a fluke due to the mold sticking to it.

Prototype is finished! I will have cost information very soon, and it looks like I've worked out the resin issue. Already casting more spear tips, which each take over 24 hours cure time, so unfortunately I can't produce them quickly. I hope the final product has met everyone's expectations, I look forward to moving forward with this project to start getting them out!
