Holy ____, Seb! That's amazing! Those pieces truly are works of art! Fantastic job, man. Just out of curiosity, did you ever consider adding the bandages from the raid sequence? Regardless, this thing looks like it jumped from the page into reality. Top notch stuff, Seb.:rock

You know what I have thought about the bandage on his thigh.
I might actually add that to all the BD version :clap

Re: BATMAN YEAR ONE - full figure run (Finished figure pics + BD version)

Hi Seb, Yes please add the bandage for the BD version. I am so looking forward to it. ;)

Re: BATMAN YEAR ONE - full figure run (Finished figure pics + BD version)

Yes don't worry all BD version will have the black bandage on his leg.

Re: BATMAN YEAR ONE - full figure run (Finished figure pics + BD version)

I FULLY AGREE WITH CHEUNGKINMEN!!!, SEB brings life to action figures and imagines them like most of us did when we were kids (now where Big kids, lol) and as for the whole price thing..i also customise for clients and have done alot of private commisions and the price is always dependent on time, funds and effort used on each product!.PLUS THE HUGE FACTOR OF CURRENCY DIFFERENCE FOR DIFFERENT COUNTRIES DUHHH!!! I.E. $400 is like £220 in UK and that is basic price for hottoys figures in the UK and seb WHOOPS hot toys A double snakes! (still do like hot toys, lol) if sideshow and other companies can bring out sum kak products at times and charge an arm and leg then i consider a CUSTOM ORIGINAL PIECE for 600 is not expensive. simply put if u don't want it DON'T BUY it!!! but do NOT take a swipe at other artists works and try to dog them about their prices on set piece!...sorry bout the rant guys and gyals but sum people jus need a slap!

If this guy didn't agree with Seb's prices, which he has the right to do, the professional and polite thing to do would have been to talk to Seb in an IM, not publically.

But at the end, if you feel that it's out of your price range, then do not buy it. Plain and simple.

Well Commtech had a valid point weather it could be someone in disguise :)

He has like 10 posts and only in this thread, that is odd.

But anyway...

lol this guy had no reason to disagree with the price, hes not even on the list for a figure so why he even had a issue is beyond me. probably right another customiser raging out of jealousy perhaps lol
its simple everyone has the choice to buy or not to buy out of their own free will. if someone dont like the price or figure Seb is not holding a gun to your head to get it. those that opted for it liked it and wanted it :lol

True, as someone who's not even buying one of Seb's figures he has not right to complain. I'm assuming that he was trying to figure out how Seb came up with his pricing. A price which I believe is more than fair, having seen Seb's work in the flesh.

I'm giving the guy the benefit of the doubt and assume he felt he was being constructive. Atleast that's what it sounded like in his very first post. Unfortunately, when no one agreed with him comments, he did start to get condesending.

What I'm saying is before you give someone your "professional" and unsolicited advice, you may consider doing it directly with the person themselves not on a public forum, especially if you're new to the forum and have yet to form a relationship with anyone here. Hec, before you even send the email you should re-read it 3 or 4 times to make sure it does come off as condesending! Then have someone else read it!

Those of us who have followed Seb's work from the beginning know that Seb knows exactly what he's doing. His work speaks for itself.

Keep wowing and inspiring us, brother!

I was under the impresssion that $600 is in the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to full customs.

The thing to note is that it's not only the cost of materials that goes into a pice like this but also the work involved in putting it together. It takes me about a full day to paint a sculpt. Now this comes with painted head, gloves and boots, then there is a matter of putting it all together, weathereing on some of them. I'd say if I was doing this figure for myself it would take something like three days to finish it. I guess elvis1976 being a master of his craft doesn't take this long but still that is a lot o working hours put into each of these.

In the end all you have to do is look at the pics of the finished product to know the price is well justified.

Absolutely. The real art comes in putting it together and bringing it to life. This is something Seb excels at which is why many people will buy loose parts and have Seb build the figure for them. It's an art.

I don’t think he has any intention of buying anything from Elvis mate. I think he just called out Elvis to drum up interested for his own sculpting but he has done quite the opposite and made himself look very unprofessional.
I think the fact he tried to promote himself in someone else’s thread even without being insulting is low in itself.

"Hi everyone! I'm a professional sculptor. I'm good . You're not. Contact me!" :slap

Actually, you could get both Pitt and Freeman from 7even for that price with full clothing and I think even an extra head for Freeman with some accessories as well.
But comparing prices in custom figures is a bit silly IMHO. It all depends on how much you value the work of the people involved, their reputation, the size of the edition and how much you like the figure(s) being offered.
In the end, it's all in the eye (and pocket) of the beholder.
If I had the disposable income I would've bought this Batman, the 7even figures and VM's Deckard, just to name a few... :D

i don't consider those se7en figures customs at all. to me a custom is something done by 1 or 2 individuals. parts sourced, painted and put together by one guy. denny's team is more like a small bootleg company... there seem to be quite a few people involved and they have their own tailors etc. that can do work for cheaper. seb is one guy who probably didn't get a massive wholesale discount on raw materials either.

and this is a run of 10 figures, not 140. i don't think you can really compare them.

They did that many?
Wow, I had no idea!
