Re: Blow (2001) George Jung aka "Boston George" Figure

I can't swing a fullset, don't think I would ever be able to justify the cost. The H&C however is essentially almost the same thing and way cheaper than bashing. That IMO, is complete value for money especially at that quality level.

I don't think he's ever heard of Raoul Duke, so taking it up might be out of question. Too many controllables in the way of getting that one obscure figure. :wink1:

Theres more than one influential person (when it comes to RM) interested in that figure. When Rainman is ready I think its likely to get done :). I hear you on the H&C's but I really like the man's paint work and the FS items are sometimes essential like with Bickle. The fig without those glasses is unthinkable to me.

Re: Blow (2001) George Jung aka "Boston George" Figure

Please put me down for this.

Got you down mate :). I have somebody in mind for the glasses but its a long shot a real long shot lol. If it doesn't happen (which it likely won't) fullmetal is a great shout!

Re: Blow (2001) George Jung aka "Boston George" Figure

In! But who's on headsculpt?

See above :) don't want to name any names until its assured best way to stop potential disappointment. Expect an update in the next week or so guys :). Thanks for your patience

Re: Blow (2001) George Jung aka "Boston George" Figure

Just a quick update It looks like I have a sculptor locked down I'm 90% sure he's in to sculpt however his current schedule is not conducive to starting any more work so its going to be the beginning of next year probably Feb/Mar before anything moves on this project. It's the same deal with the gentleman it looks like I have interested in doing the glasses as well. I've been asked by the sculptor not to drop any names until closer to the time as he's so busy he doesn't want to fully commit and then disappoint anybody if things don't pan out they way we hope.

So as I say it's going to be another 4 or 5 months before I can move on this project likely so if anybody wants to drop out no worries. Personally I think it's a good idea to wait if there's a very real possibility of having the best artists possible on board for this one and it'll be nice to get the holidays out of the way especially with all the other great (expensive) stuff coming up here on the boards. Let me know your thoughts.

Re: Blow (2001) George Jung aka "Boston George" Figure

Right guys got a small update what do you guys think about this WIP shot?

You've likely seen it before it's Rahmier84's work posed up on his thread very very recently. I have spoken to him and he's very interested in offering his sculpt up as part of this run. The glasses where done by fullmetal and we'll find out very soon if he's ok to do another 10-15 of them :).

The question is what do you guys thing about the sculpt? Personally I love it and Rahmier appears to be keen to let it be a part of this project which is great. The only concern we have is with regards to 'recasting' how does this particular sculpt fall when considering that. Of course in it's current state its a OOAK commission/mod to the DID Chicago Gangster sculpt which is totally acceptable nothing wrong there. BUT if the sculpt was to be cast up and included as part of this run how would you guys feel about it as it is a modified sculpt and not 100% done from scratch. Genuine and honest thoughts please guys.

Re: Blow (2001) George Jung aka "Boston George" Figure

Throw me on that list Bullet! I have no qualms about the sculpt but not sure how the overall census will be. I think it looks fantastic! PB and J. Meant to be!:exactly:

Fullmetal is in for 10 to 15 pairs!

Re: Blow (2001) George Jung aka "Boston George" Figure

Very good Boston George expression. Seems to fit - Will this be the only sculpt offered?

i was going to get boston george from jake, he has asked if its cool to get this casted for this project, i have no problem at all if my fellow freaks can get in on this....i love the character, the true life aspects of the film.........jake is a ""master"" of mod's,,,,,,,,nobody better, we need this sculpt...... as far as recasting goes, this is where i sit,,, an independent customizer who does 30-40 sculpts and isnt really breaking the bank with the price and limited run should not be recasted unless he gives the o.k to somebody.....a co. like hot toys or d.i.d., hasbro, whatever, they have executives and ceo's that make a real nice buck running the co. doing a little recasting with a head i do not think will impact them in the least. its done all day everyday on ebay, for a run of 15 heads i wouldnt mind at all..... thats my take.....

Excellent news! Will update the first post.

Atm yes. The other artists I had interested in doing this are just so busy. It's not something I'm going to rule out cos I'd really like to see what a haired version would look like but for the moment this is the one I want to go with. Personally I think Rahmier has done an excellent job on it.

Hey Marty I had no idea this sculpt was commissioned by yourself very very cool of you to consent to it being a part of this run (even better since your already on the list :)). I agree with you RE the recasting I think the fact the sculpt has been heavily modified is the main reason I think it's justifiable tbh but even though the principal is the same I take your point with regards to a big company verses a small independent. It's not like making 10-15 of these heads is going to impact the income of DID at all whereas if it was a smaller independent artists sculpt it really would affect there income.

So we have 3 people on the list good with using the sculpt anyone else care to chime in?
