So incredibly good! I can't wait to paint this up! Take all the time you need to adjust; this last adjustment was a nice improvement. So many artists just kind of rough in the hair. It almost looks abstract. Your detail makes it look like natural hair. Especially love that there is no hard hairline; one of my biggest complaints of digital sculpts. I noticed you have the proper swirl in his hair, too, in the front that was missing. Well done!

Head orders now closed. Hands are still available.

Update on hands. So the new smaller size is perfect and they fit really well to the peg. Really happy how they turned out. I will follow up with new pictures of the new head and hands soon. Though one thing to address, which has been an absolute pain is the cigarette hand. The bent arm forces back the sleeve to expose the ugly wrist ball joint. I will go back and try to add in the wrist again, though this time I will try using a smaller wrist peg for the wrist to cover over, like a glove hand. Hopefully this will still keep things on track for January, though it's important to get this looking good.

Update on the cigarette hand. It works really well now. It requires a smaller wrist ball joint as it works like a glove, but there is just enough wrist to hide the separation. Also if anyone makes his watch in future this will hide it even better.

I will start shipping heads and hands in January.

Looks fantastic!! Thanks for your attention to detail!

For those who just ordered the head and not hands, please check your inbox as I have sent a pm requesting shipping address.

For those who have ordered hands, assuming you want the hands shipped with heads, I'm just waiting on a new prototype hand to confirm the production. There have been more changes which I will explain later.

So I've decided to make the other two hands use a smaller wrist peg. The issue with larger ball wrist pegs was that they require the hand to balloon out at the end and produce a bit of an un-natural shape that was fitting too tightly to the sleeve. The smaller peg allows the original proportions of the hand with added wrist for a more natural fit. It means a little less articulation, though for relaxed hands it's not an issue. I'm happy with this now so will start the production. Thanks for your patience!

Apologies for those still waiting on their shipment. Work and personal life have been pretty busy lately, but I will get these posted out as soon as I can. Those who ordered the DX hands, may need to wait a while longer as the paint finishes for the accessories will probably take under a week to dry.

The original paint app I had planned didn't work out so well, so I have found a different and better technique as want to get the gold parts looking as shiny as possible, though the paint effect is very finicky and can only air dry over time. So if you can hold on a bit longer it should be worth it.

Just a snippet of the work on the DX. These jewels are about the size of a grain of sugar and need to be sanded flat! Drove me a little crazy with the tweezers. I dyed them (after this pic) to get a more darker shade of blue. Also not having a workspace makes this difficult, which is why it takes a little longer working from my bathroom 😆

Apologies to those still waiting who ordered the DX set. After much trial and error I think I found a nice chrome application for the accessories. This finish is important for these to look good as dull gold paint won't do. These will need time to dry as my last attempt I didn't give enough time rushing things and so had to strip and repeat. I'm not a painter and haven't done anything like this in years. Next will be the slight gold tint application once the chrome is dry.

Looking at the red jacket scene, where the daughter it tied to the bed, it seems the ring is silver. He was very color coordinated, so I wonder if the cigarette holder should be silver too? Of course the promotion photos seem different again. Different watch, probably different jewelry too, I think. Hard to commit on a metal color. Anyone have ideas? I imagine it’s whatever looks good as the promotion shots in the red jacket are different from the red jacket scene as far as jewelry goes. Suppose it’s whatever looks good.

Thanks Pete. It's really difficult to tell as it looks like silver in some shots and goldish in others. I'll investigate a bit more, though would make my life much easier if it was silver :D

Edit: I think it's more like this mild gold

I ended up going with a chrome base with a light gold mist over it, it works...cover all bases ;)

To those still waiting on your heads due to the DX hands, my apologies. I bit off more than I could chew with these, particularly as I don't have a space to work, so I had to airbrush the gold finish in a horrible spider infested shed outside. Also the chrome finish needs a considerable amount of time to dry hard. It was extremely fiddly to get the jewel stone inserted into the rings in the end and I ended up losing some of them (they dropped on the carpet and vanished!) so it's not something I wish to repeat, hence no more DX hand sales :D

Here are some images of the final head and DX hand sets. These will be shipping from tomorrow and next week.

I have added these and an extra image to the front page. Also when you receive your DX hands you will need to make sure the correct finger goes with it's associated hand. Here is a guide.
