Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom-Travis-Fimmel-Viking-figure, Final stages

Any updates from Ski lately?

Was wondering that myself. Hopefully that means he's just been banging out projects.

Nothing yet. I sent a PM with more reference shots on head and ponytail.

Hopefully I'll hear something from him soon.

Waiting for)
Looking forward to photos of the head from the Sky and finally clothes from the master of IKE)

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom-Travis-Fimmel-Viking-figure, Final stages

While we're waiting on the other heads, here's a 90% mock up of
what I envisioned the figure to be. Of course I broke down and
got the full metal spear :lol, so this spear is just a stand in.
Plus I still need to do the back of the vest then re-do the metal
ring paint app to make it look even better.

The stands base is made with real rock and sand. Then I
used that same sand to dust up the boots. And there is
the first custom name plate.

Now it's starting to look like an official figure..:clap

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom-Travis-Fimmel-Viking-figure, Final stages

I love the way the figure looks and is coming together. It seems like the head is a tad oversized though. :(

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom-Travis-Fimmel-Viking-figure, Final stages

I dunno, on this one seems fine. I think it could be the clothing making it look bulkier/bigger maybe?

Ike - is it possible to loosen the vest so it hangs little lower on the neck? Similar to Zebratens? Cant tell if its lower or wider

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom-Travis-Fimmel-Viking-figure, Final stages

True, it could be the shoulder/neck area. Didn't think about that. I wasn't trying to criticize the figure, I bought one. :lol I love it.

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom-Travis-Fimmel-Viking-figure, Final stages

I was trying to find a process that would make them be the same
for everyone. I can try to make mods or adjustments, but
it's always going to come down to an individual's taste and vision they have
for the figure.

But based on what I'm hearing so far, maybe it's best to just send the
outfit to you and that way you can adjust it the way you want.
Or maybe I can just send it with the vest/shirt off and you can do that part last.
That would give you access to the rest of the outfit to do mods easier.

As it stands; The vest is a real pain in the ass to get on and off.
So once you get it on, you're not going to want to ever do that again..:lol
I was trying to spare everyone of that process.

Also I made modifications to the shirt that can't be undone. Because
I didn't plan on changing anything on the prototype except to finish
what's not done and some slight color adjustments.

Once I fit the arm wraps & belt with magnet, the shirt can not be taken
off either. I know Mudblood wanted to do a water wash, I don't know
how that will be able to be done, unless the shirt comes off the body.

So I guess, if you really want, I can make that an option.
I just thought most would appreciate the figure being assembled & complete.
So all you have to do is add the shield, weapons and put him on the stand.
Because that is how I feel and expect it to be. For a figure venture of
this cost, I was going to finish all the figures, I just think that's how it should be.

But I guess, if you want to do some mods and some assembly yourself, just let me know.
I would just do all the weathering and fitting that I can and leave shirt and vest off.
I would have to redesign the arm wraps as well with some sort of lace up feature.

Whom ever wants that, let me know

Thanks
Ike

I didn't know things couldn't be removed. Having mine put together sounds like the best option.

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom-Travis-Fimmel-Viking-figure, Final stages

uhhhh....in that case, I'll let you do it :rotfl. Can't wait to get this one!

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom-Travis-Fimmel-Viking-figure, Final stages

Ike's version looks great. But we did approach things differently.

I used a different body. I did not use a "muscle" body because I thought it would not be seen and could restrict movement. I used a DAM body (the newer type).

I made my own tunic. I think we used different fabric. I think mine may be a bit thinner.

I made my armor. I used leather from an old wallet. I think Ike's leather armor looks better but I think mine may be cut shorter around the neck area.

The head definitely isn't too big. It just needs to sit up a tad higher I think.

Ike's version is awesome.

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom-Travis-Fimmel-Viking-figure, Final stages

I PM'd Skiman because I have a couple of items with him as well. He said that since he's on vacay this week and will be working on some projects. Hopefully our Ragnar's will be among them. Happy Holidays.

Any new updates for us, IKE?

Also, have the international guys gotten their shields yet?

Ski did PM me. Said he's on vacation this week so he'll be able to
work on the heads. So hopefully we'll start seeing some pictures
during this next week.

I am also off work until 1-4-16, so I'll post some pictures
as I finish up all the final work prepping for the heads.
I'll do some group shots when I'm finished.

If anyone wants me to do the magnet set up on your
ax and belt, just let me know with PM. I would just need
you to send me your ax. I would have done that in the
beginning, but I didn't know I was going to do it that way...:lol

Thanks

Ike

Great news IKE.
Thank you and happy holidays)

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom-Travis-Fimmel-Viking-figure, Final stages

Added another magnet(apprx 1.5mm) to the neck peg just to see
if it makes a noticeable difference in the overall look.

Normally the beard would be hanging down more over the neck frame of the vest.

But in the back you can see, it is now at the top of the neck, instead of blending in more.

What do you think?

What I can do is just include the extra magnet so you can see if you like the height difference or not.

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom-Travis-Fimmel-Viking-figure, Final stages

I like the height difference. I'll take a magnet.

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom-Travis-Fimmel-Viking-figure, Final stages

If possible, I with additional magnet)
