To be honest the thing I have always hated on the MGS Medicom figures are the head sculpts and the plastic bandana.
I would prefer material that is tied around the head giving a realistic knot on the back and then the ends of the material that floats just naturally draped over the shoulders similar to the TMNT.
As I think the floating bandana looks ok but unrealistic depending on the pose you have.
Maybe a cloth version and then a version with wire in.
Also the best wire would be floral wire what they use to position flowers and what not.
It is very thin and flexible and will not snap.

Just to stick my two cents in I think the part of the bandana on the head should be sculpted and the tails should be fabric with a wire in. I've had a snake head sculpt like this before and it really does work.

Well I would not mind this as long as when the head. Is sculpted and cast
The material is wrapped around the head before hand
Meaning it will match the material when figure is complete.
Instead if smooth and plain sculpted material.

I disagree asan expensive figure needs to be exactly what you want otherwise what is the point.
I don't want to spend $600.00 on a figure knowing it will need to be modified when I get it.
I want to display it as soon as it arrives.
I would suggest pictures of both version and what ever the majority of the vote gets made.

Whatever IDM decides, no one will have a gun put to their head to buy. I'm sure there will be sufficient interest that the allocated spots will sell no matter what.

TBH I don't really care either sculpted or fabric. If it's sculpted it's fine for me. I will still change it. So if that can makes everyone happy i'm fine with either way.

Yeah I agree that IDM figure will be nothing short of amazing.
But if 5out of the 20 people want something the other 15 don't want
And it gets made that way then that would not be fair weather the spots fill up or not.

Obviously I was using hyperbole and really only speaking for myself, because of all of us here, Elvis has had the most in-hand experience (by far) customizing MGS figures.

As Snake P. said earlier though, I agree it's probably best to defer to IDM's own judgment and see where it goes. I doubt the bandana will ultimately be a deal breaker for almost anyone either way.

Yeah I just posted that very thought, nothing is even off the ground yet and I can accept a fabric bandana if that's the only choice.

Plus John has already reassured that it won't break, that was my one main concern.

You're blowing it out of proportion. The bandana I would like a certain way, but I'll get over it. And the draw to this figure is that it's original, and it's something I've wanted for a very long time since the release of the game. Hot Toys won't get around to it, and if they did it wouldn't be the PS2 modeled head. I'm not just getting this just because it MGS, I'm getting it since it's my absolutely favorite image of my favorite gaming icon.
