i'm not a good photo-editor, but i tried this out quick. maybe i'm alone with my thoughts, but i've tried changing these parts, that i mentioned. on the right side you're seeing the edited version, the left side is the original sculpt.

there is still much more to be done, and the edits can be done also much better than i've done, but these are just my thoughts for denny. and again, i hope you don't take this negative. i'm just trying to motivate you to be better and better ;)

I'm with you on a lot of that TM. This particular edit isn't perfect but it's the right direction. You nailed it from before the reveal when you did the first manip of the unpainted sculpt. I think the paint is fantastic and the problem lies in the sculpt. We saw that the unpainted sculpt was improved in your edit when the face/head was elongated and thinned out a bit. Now that we're seeing the sculpt fom different angles it's more evident that the shape of the face & head is most of the issue. The facial features may use a little tweaking but the face is a big improvement to the first WIP shown that looked a little more like Fox.

I don't agree that prior attempts at Alonzo were better than this. I like Sunohc's stuff but his Alonzo was even further from the mark than this and looks like he got the head/face shape right but the unpainted sculpt looks like an even older Denzel than this painted one.

As far as the sculpt being small, I'm not positive of that yet. The balance between his shoulder width and his head in the real screen shots seem similar. I think the jacket may be big (not that its out of scale; its supposed to be a big coat) and that's where the illusion is coming into play. I don't think it's undersized like Mills or Riggs is. I could be wrong but the only real way to see if it's sized right is to see it side by side with another properly sized sculpt like their Somerset or Lecter.

I'm hoping that changes can be made, even if it means starting from scratch. They're doing it for Durden so if it's necessary I hope that Denny can do it here too.

it is very very important denny gets the mouth correct, ever notice how the mouth can make just a huge difference in a sculpt. more than eyes and nose.. denzel has that disticnt mouth....thurst did a great job with edit...i hope this gets revised:dunno

I agree with all the previous suggestions and I'll be picking this up if it gets revised. I like it it looks cool but it just feels too far off for me at the moment to purchase the full set. Im sure denny is taking all the suggestions and will tweak it a bit

Am I the only one who thought it would be cheaper like the Lethal weapon and Sopranos figures.

So since its up for sale for VIP's does that mean there going to do those small changes?

I really don't like doing these since I sometimes feel disrespectful to the artist but I really wanted this figure , here's my take with five minutes in photoshop.

Thanks for that Hicks, that's a pretty damn good manip! You softened up the under eye bags and something else to his face that is taking age off of the sculpt. That's perfect!

All the edits so far are showing the same thing with the shape of the head and face.

HI Guys~~

Thanks for the all the suggestions.

Here are some of my opinions.

1. Head size
I believe that the size is correct based on the body.
in the movie, the jacket was pretty bulky, it might be the bulky jacket, do you want me to tighten the jacket a bit ?

2.Sculpt & painting
I can't guarantee if modification can make it better, there are not many points that we could improve.
However, I am going to redo the painting job again to show you guys.
the sidecut of the hair, it might be possible with painting gradation effect.

re : mouth

Please give me more information about it, when we made the sculpt, we choose a main expression and most of parts are mostly correct as we checked so many photos of him.

Anyway, I will check things out and show you new painting work.

thanks guys~!

Denny

You're the man Denny, thanks for chiming in.

I'd like to hear with the rest of the crew thinks but personally I like the size of the jacket. It's oversized on screen and I think that you guys captured the fit pretty well. My opinion is the jacket is perfect as is.

I think the best way to judge the sculpt size is if we can see it pictured next to some of your other sculpts for comparison.

I just checked out all of my iminime sculpts and Alonzo doesn't seem undersized like Mills or Riggs so he's off to a good start already. Studying and comparing these sculpts I feel that Neo is sized nearly exactly like HT and IMO HT is slightly undersized (aside from Mills, Neo is my smallest Iminime sculpt).

Lecter is the biggest of the batch followed by Somerset and then Smith. I'd say Ra's is perfect; not slightly on the big side like Lecter and not slightly on the small side like Neo or the average HT.

I believe that the size is pretty right on the body.

you know, we check the size pretty carefully nowadays

Now, our team will be reproducing some different base color of the resin, the sample that we painted on was a bit bright,(we normally tested many times), so this time, we will make the color a bit darker which will effect the whole painting effect.

in this way, it will look different.
The eyes position is ok, we did differently but not really good result.
with new painting differently, It will be different, I will show you when it's done and you can compare it with previous sample and give me feedback

Thanks

Denny

I'm looking forward to seeing the repainted version. In my altered photo above I lightened the skin tone and also took some of the greys from the facial hair. Like everyone else noticed I mainly just tried to make him look younger by taking out some of the eye bags and wrinkles, just generally smoothing the face. I'm sure as mentioned by Denny this look can be achieved to a certain degree with a repaint.

One more thing that could be throwing it off is the collar , I haven't followed any Iminime projects so I'm not sure if it's too late to change or if at all even possible.

The way it is now reminds me of the collar on this.
