Re: Training Day - Denzel Washington: Alonzo Harris

Jake's a rooster, not a wolf!!! :lol :1-1:

Personally Alonzo is all I'd need from this movie but I'm sure there would be people interested in Hoyt.

The wolf call scene was awesome:rotfl

Hoyt...hell yeah!
"You gotta control your smiles & cries because that's all you have & nobody can take that away from you."

Hoyt, lets get him made.:hi5:

Re: Training Day - Denzel Washington: Alonzo Harris

I never get sick of this flick :rock

Alright my vote would be for a serious sculpt as the standard and a smiling as the DX. Preferably the regular serious sculpt without a beanie and the DX smiling with a beanie.

The King Kong scene is memorable and iconic but I don't think that expression is a better choice for a figure (for several reasons) over a smiling sculpt.

I really think that this will be a challenge for Iminime. I know people think that this is easy-peasey but don't let the all black gear fool you. His clothes have a baggy fit that can be tricky to mimic in 1/6. There's a fine line between nailing that baggy look or just making it look oversized and frumpy. The shoes are gator or snake skin and are also very specific.

The accessories aren't too simple either. He has two very distinct chains, a chunky bracelet and a watch, and this will be Iminime's first shot at jewelry. His guns are distinct, iconic and it's important for them to be accurate. His rig is a bit intricate too; the design is very different than the norm. It seems to have little to no leather and IDK if that works out to be easier or harder to create in 1/6.

Hey mike I agree with the sculpt choice's having thought about this the smiling is what make him (him) if you get me .

If this is going to be done right its going to be difficult to pull off as his outfit Jewellery and those guns are no joke quite a unique outfit .
I did have another word for that outfit but I couldn't spell it ;)

If done right this could be the figure of the year for me .......

But Denny's work is getting better an better with every releice

I only hope this one's his best yet .

Agreed on the points.

And the more i read, the more i think this is rainman's expertise. :lol

Re: Training Day - Denzel Washington: Alonzo Harris

Yea of course Rainman makes a stellar fig for double the money. He'd barley miss a detail down to the shoes. I'd love Rainman to tackle this and do it full justice but he'll be wrapped up with the Pulp Fiction stuff for a whle and then who knows when he'd get to Alonzo, IF he ever gets to Alonzo.

Iminime is making the right connections with guys like Trev and Oliver plus they have the 3D modeler who was supposed to start this month. I think that they have gathered the tools to do this right. They just have to pay close attention to the source material, put the proper thought into constructing everything and get everything right for the first release.

I think that we would get more people voting if Denny confirmed that this would possibly be a DX and he wants to see our thoughts on the second sculpt.

I agree. Guys if your interested please ask to be added to the interest list. If your on the fence, ask to be added to the interest list or you'll regret not getting in on this!

If you already in, continue to voice your opinion regarding a DX sculpt. The more interest the better...the quicker we can see what we agree on the faster Denny puts this into production!

Re: Training Day - Denzel Washington: Alonzo Harris

I'd like to have "my man" for DX. The one in which he smiles while biting on a cigarette. The cigarette is a must.

Re: Training Day - Denzel Washington: Alonzo Harris

After receiving my Iminime T. Soprano yesterday, I would happily take this now :rock

The leather jacket on Tony is frackin' superb, and fills me with lots of confidence in this project!

I really would like to see them collaborate with Rainman on this

I think his Denzel sculpt would be killer!

They did a great job on Mills' leather trench. They had my confidence for Alonzo's coat since then and I feel that the tailor has improved since. I still think the other bits of the outfit will prove to be a challenge

Re: Training Day - Denzel Washington: Alonzo Harris

Ok, I been thinking and watching the movie over n over again. Here's my input.

I'd actually like to see 2 sculpts standard, and I dare say we need 3! For a DX option.

Serious neutral. (must have for most display purposes)
Smiling with cigarette. (classic character portrayal and too cool not to have)
The DX "King kong" bloody pain stare. (Oscar worthy epic!!)

Outfit:
Black knit hat, leather coat, black long sleeve shirt, black pants, shoes.
DX option -(Black cargo pants, white tank top.)

Accessories should be:

The dual Smith&Wesson 4506 (must haves) hopefully slides and mags move and come with the shoulder rig.

The Chinese warrant was a good idea, but also the plastic sealed money brick he stuffs in his waist from the house.

The "*****" shotgun.

Jewelry and police badge.

DX option- (duffle bag of money bricks.)

I think all that would be just perfect for this project!
