Re: Training Day - Denzel Washington: Alonzo Harris

O yea something else I forgot to mention is the black outfit is worn until he changes into one identical thats actually dark blue after the visit to the jungle. Not sure if people noticed or cared but maybe votes on this detail should happen as well? :dunno

Re: Training Day - Denzel Washington: Alonzo Harris

Ok, I been thinking and watching the movie over n over again. Here's my input.

I'd actually like to see 2 sculpts standard, and I dare say we need 3! For a DX option.

Serious neutral. (must have for most display purposes)
Smiling with cigarette. (classic character portrayal and too cool not to have)
The DX "King kong" bloody pain stare. (Oscar worthy epic!!)

Outfit:
Black knit hat, leather coat, black long sleeve shirt, black pants, shoes.
DX option -(Black cargo pants, white tank top.)

Accessories should be:

The dual Smith&Wesson 4506 (must haves) hopefully slides and mags move and come with the shoulder rig.

The Chinese warrant was a good idea, but also the plastic sealed money brick he stuffs in his waist from the house.

The "*****" shotgun.

Jewelry and police badge.

DX option- (duffle bag of money bricks.)

I think all that would be just perfect for this project!

That's true, after he goes and sees his dime he changes into a blue outfit that is very similar (maybe identical) to the black one he wore for the better part of the movie. Personally I like his all black digs best.

You make a lot of good points but some of your ideas will edge a lot of people out.

You're dead on with the accessories. The two pistols, jewelry, rig (quality & accuracy is needed here!!!!) and badge (around the necklace) are absolute musts. The shotgun would be pretty necessary too and the sealed money from Sandman's house would be really awesome. Something like the menu warrant could be made by Corrose if enough of us wanted it and he'd do it for a very good price (he did our Anton phone bills for $7).

I think that a DX is very necessary but we'll lose the majority of people on that list if it turns to a 3 sculpt/2 outfit DX. That would mean that the entry price for a regular set would be in the $500-$600 range because of the extra sculpt. What would that make the DX, $1000? There will be a handful of us that would stick around for that but we'd lost most of the list and wouldn't be left with enough to bring this to life.

Maybe not everyone feels the same way, but I think what makes the most sense is the standard set should be the black outfit that he wore for most of the movie with a serious sculpt (no beanie). The DX option should be the "my man" smiling face (beanie & cig). This way you have 2 sculpts that coincide with 1 outfit. Round it off with the most relevant accessories and BOOM! ...you have a solid set.

But I really think that the whole King Kong idea is great in theory but not in practice. That means a totally different outfit (and accessories) has to go with that sculpt. Essentially two separate full figs, not a DX

My prayers have been answered and now it's just time to sit back and wait!!!!

Re: Training Day - Denzel Washington: Alonzo Harris

Come to think of it, I'd prefer the smiling sculpt with cigarette for normal set. It simply makes his presence stand out so much more.

I see ur point but I dont like it. :lol (kidding)

Yea I get it..I guess I was thinking the 3 sculpts could be made individually as well to balence the kit price for most collectors. Denny has done this more and more recently and there is hardly any great Denzel sculpts, so in my mind, I'm sure they would draw a crowd of those not on our list for random bashes. As far as the outfit it.. could be either black or blue for me personally but I liked his look when he kicked Jakes *** on the roof tops too with the tank jeans and jacket. I remember Denny had 3 to 4 different looks to go with the Dr. Lecter project so was thinking along those lines. With the police badge and the king kong sculpt, I figured it would be a great compliment to that look was all.

But anyhow I'm just glad he's decided to do it and I can't wait to see the heads. Thank u so much Denny and everyone who got this project done.:1-1:

Yeah I am of the thought that I am just glad we are getting one - I never thought I'd see a figure of this character.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade man :1-1:

Believe me when I'm hyped on a figure I want the royal treatment for it too. I wish I had 3 sculpts for all of my favorite pieces. The problem is what those would cost would turn most people away.

I'm just trying to be realistic. There are a hell of a lot more people here willing to pay $350 for this then there are who will pay $1000. I think this set won't be too cheap as is if they are going to produce a great quality rig and accessories. People are probably expecting this to be priced similarly to the Bateman sets which are $360 for the regular and $550 for the DX.

Re: Training Day - Denzel Washington: Alonzo Harris

Hi Guys,

Due to some changes of our schedule, this project will be go first.
the WIP photos will be shown soon.

By the way, can you delete the name of the actor and the movie title, because recently it's getting more difficult to show our work due to licensed issue.

This will be offered by emails only~

thank you guys

Denny

Re: Training Day - Denzel Washington: Alonzo Harris

Hey Denny, is there any chance you can show is the production schedule? It's hard to keep track of which figures you are making next.
