There is no logic really. I say Kato, this is your product you can do what you want with it (unlicensed or not). I don't think there is any decline in value at all. The original owners can sell and make back their original cost even with this release, (this release is more expensive!) I don't see the problem.

i am one of the original owners and I myself can't understand why people are STILL complaining...let these other people live!!!!....look...when this was originally offered...the people jumped on this and we made it into a successful run...FINE.....new people...new blood.....MORE TALENT....SO WHAT if they want to revisit this??!?!...are some of your egos that inflated that you would seriously try to sabotage this for others!??!?!?...grow the ***kk up!!!!

Im sure most of those complaining are the ones who bought it off the secondary market at crazy prices and feel when the need arises they cant flip theirs for even higher prices... honestly I never liked the idea of figures being speculative investments nor some exclusive clique so id say go ahead Kato... this is an accepted part and parcel of this hobby... there will be improved versions with time... even from the same artist (eg Rainman Charlie v1/v2)

This makes me think.... how about a Bill The Butcher outfit Set? :lol

It just because Rainman had offered extra unpainted sculpt to public but the clothing is limited in supply ? Therefore..... IT BECOME A RULE THAT I SHOULD NOT OFFER ANY OUTFIT afterward?

Kato aint Rainman. Rainman sells his outfit set with a certificate and limited quantity. Maybe another good example would be items like a limited edition 20 worldwide watches. Or a special colored bathing ape hoodie. :lol

Kato produces handmade item upon order and requests. Just like the master tailor that produces bespoke suits at Savile Row - as long as theres a demand, and customer is willing to pay for it, he will make it.

Not necessarily.

The iminime Gordon wasnt priced very high, yet a lot of seasoned regular folks chimed in their disappointment when Denny proposed the idea of a better tailored of the outfit only.

The ones who complain need to understand that even though both Rainman and Kato produces handmade, high end stuffs, their business model has been different from the start. Its like comparing apples and oranges - even though both of em are fruits. :lol

I didnt mention Wake, I know it wasnt him, he did say it wasnt him also... however there are others too... this set has sold for crazy prices everytime it showed up on the FS section...

I have never seen it for sale in the FS section.

But I can see that the appeal of this set has been the Kato outfit.

That V1/V2 wasn't an attempt at an improvement, it was just a different offering like his Fight Club series or present day V1/V2 Vince Pulp Fiction.

If your refering to ZWCO, I don't see that new ZWCO Chaplin as any improvement at all. That figure looks cheap quite honestly :lol

Dude I don't get WTF is going on here.

I started posting my interest in the original Morpheus thread at least 6 months ago. Some people responded to me and I approached other guys that I knew owned one. Back when I was hot on the hunt I spoke to 7 different Morpheus owners and pitched them all prices from $1250-$1500. Most weren't interested in selling at all and the ones that were interested I wasn't interested in their piece because I was specifically looking for one that had both Kato's black shirt & tie (and I prefer the box and COA too but it seems several people don't have theirs).

The point is at 21 (+ the few extra that Daniel mentioned) worldwide we NEVER see this up for sale. Most of the people that I pitched weren't selling no matter what! So what's the problem?!?!?!?! You guys just want to stare at it on your shelf dreaming of what you can get for it on the secondary market but have no real intent to sell??? SUPER SELFISH. Not only to your fellow collectors but to Kato too. Wake up and read his post people...he has a business and wants to sell this but you're stopping him!!!

It's not that I don't get what the original owners are concerned about because I'd want to protect my investment too. BUT YOU GUYS ARE NOT DOING YOUR MATH RIGHT AND ARE NOT THINKING STRAIGHT. This does not effect the value of your sets!

We gave the break down and the Rainman release comparison a bunch of times already. Maybe you need to see the logic in full:

You guys (first owners) paid $750-$820

2nd runners will pay: $700 for the clothes, $40 for the sculpt & shades, $50-$150+ to get it painted; depending who you're taking it to. $80+ for a body ($60+ for a TTM21 and then you'd need hands. $80+ for a TTM15), glocks will MINIMIALLY be $12 each if you're going with official HT. Plus shoes. Then we have the finished sword with an undetermined price. Also a stand and decal if you're into that.

The 2nd runners that are building this up to the highest level and taking their sculpt to the better painters on the board are into this for $1100 RIGHT OUT OF THE GATES!

- The finished product of the 2nd run are all BASHES. There will be similar ones but there will be a variation because of all the different painters that will be used. These will all be perceived accordingly on the secondary market.

-IN TOTAL, THIS WILL STILL BE A SMALLER RUN THAN THE AVERAGE RAINMAN RELEASE

So that will still make these extremely scarce. Instead of NEVER seeing them for sale we'll RARELY see the for sale. The better ones (paint-wise) of the 2nd run bashes will fetch the same ball park prices as the original full sets (people will rate this differently. I price it at +/- double the original full set).

So whether you're someone that originally got in at retail or someone who paid after market value....YOUR INVESTMENT IS SAFE!!!! FREE YOUR MIND!!!!

Anyone who owns an original full set and has a sensible theory that shoots holes in my theory, please step up and share with us. Tell us on the thread what you're so worried about and help us see your side of the story instead of filling up Kato's inbox and making him crazy.

If anyone can do that with solid points I'll be happy to agree and say that I stand corrected.

I say stop the bickering, let's get this done, no need for the back-and-forth on an item is going to be totally different than those that invested in the first one. If this were to happen every time a second version of the head came out or a new and improved outfit was offered many of us wouldn't have anything on the shelves. Like Pop said, all the owners of the original Morpheus have certificates and they are part of a small group that own one-of-a-kind figure while the rest of us are bashing this together. So in essence your investment is protected.

....and you know you'd be a little tight if you ended up paying triple for somthing that was going to be re-released eventually. :lol However, the artists aren't at fault, it's a "be mad at yourself scenario"

Best way to collect is to get it from the original source. This chasing figures is a crash and burn situation. I only have 1 peice that I paid secondary market on, and I learned that lesson quick.

Ok guys I don't know what is happening with this project but just giving a heads up that since Sunohc is offering the head sculpt with shades John and I have decided that he will be only offering the sword. It only makes sense to buy the HS and shades from Sunohc since it is designed for it.

I will buy one of the mononofu 1/6 swords and he will use my blade as the prototype. Then after the final finished sword is revealed, he will determine the price on it. Thanks again.

Of course this is all pending on the outcome on Kato's decision to move forward.

Why continue to piggyback off the Butcher? I didn't do anything with Butcher... that figure has a life of it's own! :lol But I got mine for $800 Fam. Straight from Korea!

My new thing is I don't play ketchup....you get squashed like that.
