I also recently order from Kato for a wired one but he doesn't offer wired version anymore due to QC reason.
You can run a wire through the side of the coat yourself if you want.
If you like your figure in a dynamic pose then wired is the way to go. But to achieve the pose like in the first picture, wire is not necessary.



I saw Geewhiz version recently on FB but I think the tailoring is a little bit too short for the coat and I don't really like how the shoulder look on the second picture.

It definitely is. I didn't like the length of the Hacker's World coat and that was longer than the Gee Whiz version.
