Re: mad max the road warrior by idm customs head pg10 3rd run list updated!

Any chance that this project is no longer moving forward?

Re: mad max the road warrior by idm customs head pg10 3rd run list updated!

It's still moving . . . but just really slow. :)

I'll post some WIP photos of the outfit very soon. It's been tough because we really couldn't find any good leather materials that would work. But Jen did finish one with the huge zipper. :D

That's GREAT news! Look forward to seeing progress pics of anything that you have been working on!

Re: mad max the road warrior by idm customs head pg10 3rd run list updated!

I apologize for the awful phone camera pics, but Jen and I finally found a material we really liked to use for Max's outfit. We've looked at tons of different kinds of faux leather, real leather, and PVC fabrics that would look like the black leather used for Mad Max's outfit. It had to be thin enough to look natural and it also had to be strong enough to withstand the weathering, dust and grime that we plan to add for Max since his outfit was really weathered and worn in the films.

The zipper is huge we know, so we are trying to find a better, smaller zipper for his outfit. Apparently no one makes separating zippers this small. The ones we did find were custom made, which costs a ton of money, but for the sake of artistry and accuracy, we're going to get a few to test out and hope it works without breaking the bank. Jen and I really love the films and can't wait to see the new Mad Max: Fury Road. It'll be interesting to see Tom Hardy as Mad Max!

Enjoy the pics as we go through and do version 7 of his outfit. I didn't really want to take photos of the previous versions since we knew there would be changes (and they looked pretty awful to be honest).

Re: mad max the road warrior by idm customs head pg10 3rd run list updated!

Yup, I checked that site first and most of the small sizes were non-separating zippers. The separating zippers are still a little too big. I found a guy on Etsy.com that makes custom zippers in plastic that might work so I'll try it out first and see what happens.

Re: mad max the road warrior by idm customs (wip kneepad revision pg7 waitlist conver

I've been having a hell of a time trying to sculpt Mel Gibson as he was in Mad Max 2 The Road Warrior, so I've asked my friend Chu (BBKill) to help with the headsculpt. BBKill is an amazing artist and I hope to collaborate more with him in the future. The sculpt is just amazing as you can see. I hope I can get this printed and will try to preserve the amount of detail and beauty that is BBKill's work.

In other updates, I received almost all the printed parts so now it's on to the clothing. Jen's been working on the patterns and we should have some pics pretty soon.
