Re: MGS2: Solid Snake [sdabbs & scaletta]

Is the color staying the same, can more blue be added? Either way it looks great.

Re: MGS2: Solid Snake [sdabbs & scaletta]

We'll have to agree to disagree. To be fair i did over exaggerate. It only needs to be lowered Just a little. Maybe one strap width down so it can be at his waist maybe to here

Heres a side by side. I believe the body proportions are a little different. Being a Japanese developer they gave him a shorter persons proportions, but you can see the belt is set at his waist

Hmm, nice observations.

Also from those pics, I've been thinking, might it be possible to add more butt definition to the suit? Snake did have one glorious behind... :monkey3

Re: MGS2: Solid Snake [sdabbs & scaletta]

There's been as much definition as possible been added to the butt, there's only so much you can do without glueing the suit to the body and have no articulation

They tried the back but it didn't pull close enough to the body and made it look weird

Belt actually will sit maybe a couple of mm lower it need to go through loops they missed off the front.

The longer leg harness and shorter knee pads are throwing the proportions off slightly.

With that being said there's only so much that can be done, it's not mass produced by a factory. I'm actually more than impressed they managed to get it looking as close as they have

Re: MGS2: Solid Snake [sdabbs & scaletta]

Yeah, im on that. Its excellent with extremely minor gripes that are so small i never bothered to mention them. Im happy enough for what im getting and i know we wont see one from hot toys, ever.

They are looking to see if they can make it, I've sent drawings in so they are gonna have a go.

It will add some $$ onto the set though of course.

Re: MGS2: Solid Snake [sdabbs & scaletta]

That sounds good, Frank.

I'll just stick to my Medi Old Snake for da butt.

Re: MGS2: Solid Snake [sdabbs & scaletta]

MGS2 Snake could booty clap :lol

If the holster could be made, I'd be in for a second to replace the crappy one on my MGS1 Snake.

I'll let you guys know if they suss it.

The holster in mgs2 is different to the one in mgs1 for whatever reason. Mgs2 has loads of clips over the magazine pouches and doesn't have that squared quilted look. That's if your looking for an accurate one anyways

Looks like that quilt pattern to me. I just think it's a different color than the MGS2 version.

This is the one he wears in the MGS2 get up

Re: MGS2: Solid Snake [sdabbs & scaletta]

Oh wait a minute, I misread what you said. I thought you meant the MGS1 holster. NVM. Just checked a Document of MGS2 vid and I forgot he had buckles over the sides.

Re: MGS2: Solid Snake [sdabbs & scaletta]

I always got the impression he had a black MOLLE holster and attached two pistol mag pouches to the outside of it. Could be the same holster in both games just the one from Shadow Moses has empty MOLLE straps and the low resolution textures look like the quilted 80s era holster that Big Boss uses

Re: MGS2: Solid Snake [sdabbs & scaletta]

I'd imagine they were pistol mags since they seem like a pretty redundant feature if they had no other purpose. It had a buckle on the front too, but there's no pouch. But with the TTS had a pouch there and it was for a suppressor.

Re: MGS2: Solid Snake [sdabbs & scaletta]

I wouldn't imagine it being too difficult to do the MOLLE straps. Frank if you ever need real world specs for stuff like this I probably have something similar or know someone who does.

This is one of the main reasons the MK23 isn't used anymore. It's hard to store it in anything that's not cumbersome.

Re: MGS2: Solid Snake [sdabbs & scaletta]

Yeah I own a USP and it is easily the best pistol platform since the 1911 it just isn't cheap so fielding them to average Grunts isn't really worth it when you can just give them a Beretta and they'll probably never use it.

Re: MGS2: Solid Snake [sdabbs & scaletta]

They are but you don't get one till you're a certain rank unless your job specifically calls for one. They are useless if you ask me. If you need to use a sidearm then some bad **** is going down and in that situation I don't want to put my trust in a 9mm.
