Re: Sculpt Interest - Once Upon a Time in the West Frank

Looks great Frank! What color is the shirt, is it brown? It looks more black in the movie.

On a side note, what is your method for dying 1:6 clothing?

Re: Sculpt Interest - Once Upon a Time in the West Frank

That might be the way I go when this project is further down the line... he didn't wear his coat in the final showdown with Harmonica.
The quote i got on the shirts is pretty fair, $25 Plus shipping. once the sculpt is done, and enough want to get the shirt, well see.

Re: Sculpt Interest - Once Upon a Time in the West Frank

In the film his shirt is brown. I just used rit brown dye, mixed in with some black to make it a little darker. works well!

Do you do this in a bowl? I ask because I have only ever dyed a full size jacket before in the washing machine.

$25 is a great price for a shirt. Who is the tailor? Does he/she have a thread of their work?

I use a ziplock bag. Put in the dye, some hot water then shake the ziplock, make sure the dye gets in the clothing.. i then take it out, rinse with hot
water in the kitchen sink, then throw it in the micowave to dry for 45 seconds.. i repeat until i get the shade i want.. if i want darker, add some black rit dye..

The tailor works with viper unleashed. This is a clothing set run they did of the characters of the Rurouni Kinshin films..

Dan from Unleashed is a nice guy too - I just received a clothing set from him in the post today, haven't put it on the figure yet to test for fit but looks great in hand. Much higher quality than I expected.

I have a few of his sets, and they are VERY well done. IM sure harmonica and frank's shirt will be of the same quality if we get them done

A great start!

Looks good! The hat should sit above the ears though.

I can see Fonda in that. I have to make sure to stress to whomever paints this how intense Fonda's eyes were in this. Another project that is taking off, glad to see a few of us enjoying creating western figures!

Good to know and thanks for sharing! I am a little nervous since I have never done this before but it doesn't sound too bad. Clothing from your tailor looks great!
