No she's a new painter but Rainman has reassured me that she is a great painter. My guess, she's probably from the Iminime team. I hope to get some ref pics soon.

I'm so torn - I just had Greggo paint my Bill the Butcher so I don't need that. The fight club figs are hard to outfit...I'm thinking either Dexter or Clint....wish we could get pics of the new paint jobs. If not great, may be better to buy unpainted & commission Greggo, Ski or someone from these boards

I would be all for it, but that would kill some of the value of his older figures, which would no doubt piss off some who collect Rainman for its rareness and associated value. I'm not sure his current business model (charging as much as he does) would continue to be as successful as it is if that happened.

Its nice of Rainman to reissue these to people that missed out, but it really undermines his integrity as an artist making LIMITED edition sculpts. So in that regard, this is a very big slap in the face to those that purchased these before he did this. :dunno

I disagree on that one, because, first, Rainman always released sculpts in higher numbers. In addition to being able to get sculpts with full sets, DX sets, and outfits, he's offered painted and unpainted heads by themselves. The outfits were produced in much lower quantities than the heads. And then, with the recasting business, it kind of becomes a moot point. If he doesn't do it himself, then someone else is gonna do it and capitalize on it, and value/collectibility of those originally casted heads is gonna decrease anyway.

The outfits/accessories were something that were always relatively rare, and weren't something that could be easily duplicated. In that sense, I think that's the real core of the collectibility of his works.

But he offered all of those with a set, individually numbered piece. Now, he's really become nothing more than a recaster of him self now. Anyone that knew his work before knew they weren't getting the real thing if it didn't come with paper work. I just think he should have kept his integrity and kept the original edition sizes. For all we know, full figure remakes are next. He's no better than HT now :lol

I got an unpainted sculpt recently from Rainman, and it was unnumbered. I'm also pretty sure he didn't list edition sizes on his site for unpainted sculpts, anyway.

Pretty sure they are numbered. I remembered getting a certificate when I got the Dude clothing and unpainted head sets.

Ah, perhaps. I never opened up the bag with the certificate in it to look at it further. I'm still not keen on the idea of him just cranking out these sculpts to all that want them now though.

Yeah, I think others will share your POV, but I don't think it will be a huge blow to his business in general, while I think re-releasing clothing/accessory sets could be. Neither one bothers me personally, but I don't collect for the reason of having rare stuff.

I don't either, but I do believe in people/companies keeping with a set edition size. If you're limiting something, keep it limited. If you sell out, you should be sold out for good.

Yes, but you got the items hand made by Rainman, now he's pulling a Warhol and having 'creative' control and having someone else paint for him...

smart move IMHO

and I will be a beneficiary of having a great sculpt painted to great standards. (at least in Rainman's eyes) and that's good enough for me.

You still have a tailored set that will be the envy of many, including me.

More people having a painted Rainman HS (by his hand or another) and will make your clothing set a very WANTED item.

This is how I see it as well. Anyway can or could have already grabbed a dude head and toss him on a body with a grey sweatshirt but who did? I haven't seen a single custom like that. I hope it changes because I'd like to see how it looks, but at the same time, I'm very happy with my full figure and clothing set because those pants and sweater are so completely unique, theres nothing else even close to it.

With Alex I already knew I could have just bought a head and tossed it on my bros. prod. bootleg Alex clothing, but I got a full figure instead because I prefer it be a fully finished piece of art, painted and assembled by RM.

Actually the only thing that has me bothered is are these heads like Tyler and Narrator that come painted, going to be compatible with existing HT head sockets, because the old ones never were and that means you need RM's special shoulder/neck sculpt to attach to a HT body, or would have to still retool a painted head. I wish he would either change the way they fit bodies or start offering his shoulder/neck kits.
