I think there r too many ppl cancelled their orders. All pieces are on po again.

Im not surprised by the cancellations. The whole set is underwhelming and the only impressive thing out of this is the mother. Plus I realized the movie is old/classic and most of the collectors are of a younger crowd. This won't be a popular set to collect.

Unfortunately I let my order go too. I just won't pay these kinds of prices anymore for things that don't ring the bell (or ring the bell IMO). For a $720 figure on a KO body that only includes 1 accessory (2 if you want to count the "wig"), I think including the jacket for his normal look and painting the arms & pegs could've been done, and would've made looking past the likeness much easier.

I ended up cancelling my set a few days ago. Just not seeing enough likeness here and I doubt there will be much if any changes made. Has there really been any changes post pre-order with Rainman, the only sculpt changes I recall was when he was showing WIP pics and the community had a chance to give input. And since the PO was the first time seeing Norman, there was no opportunity to really do so.

Bickering aside, those were the good 'ol days when the custom section was fun. There was a passionate community. The forum and hobby in general has changed

I recalled someone telling me he'd predict the custom side of 1/6 is going to die out slowly. At first I thought that can't be. But I'm starting to see it has been happening.

I fully agree, the collective passion that was around during the creation of Alex, Bill, Anton and other Rainman classics seems to be entirely absent now. Customs game has been changing lot and not for the better, but it is what it is.

The hobby isn't the same no. Facebook did **** a lot of **** up yes. But you can't be that old guy refusing to get a cell phone man lol. Times change. I think that too many people who shouldn't have these things got a hold of them. Also the fact that yunsil is a household name now doesn't help. Too many guys coming in and being misinformed but a certain few (won't say names my opinion) This hobby is SO oversaturated now. Rocco interest threads make me wanna die. I FINALLY realized that at the end of the day most guys just like bashed toys and wanna save money. These guys aren't collecting with a passion. They're collecting to have toys and its evolved into a social theme. the artists saw the heavy resale prices and they did what any business minded person would do. They upped the run numbers and the prices. Now we're all bottom feeding and the ones who can't truly afford these figures or want to just flip them want to talk ****. I could go on and on but I've been drinking lol.

Don't be so dismissive of "bashes". I have seen incredible art made by the very same people Rainman uses. People that buy those bashes are full of passion, so I don't know where your opinion on that is coming from.

People do still pay for expensive customs but they have high expectations. Nobody wants to throw down big money on a dx set based upon a promise the sculpt will improve. He should have re-tooled it before collecting the money.

Is this for real, or the "drink" talking? Elitist BS, IMO

Rainman is an artist. No doubt. We pay him artist prices, but if something misses the mark, he either fixes it or doesn't. That's up to him. He wants to sell more, he'll have to respond to feedback. If he's not bothered, he won't. That simple. Again, completely up to him as an artist.

His Drac DX is the pride of my collection. I love it. I'm hoping he makes more figures I'd like in the future. For me, this one is a pass - but the mother is absolutely brilliant.
