Well, ya your right actually my bad, my point really is that the poll should serve as a device to show what is indeed popular more then anything.

Yeah Like I was saying, one of you say Teddy or Snake takes the list of what I can see Travis Bickle, Patrick Bateman and tell Rainman if hes interested to make any next as there is a lot of interest for both and incase he is willing to make both can there be a poll which people want first.

You know sometimes I wonder wether Rainman ever even visits this thread. Honestly if this thread is to be taken seriously I suggest a proper Poll be made everytime before a Rainman release and then voting happens. Once one figure is chosen. The other characters can compete for the next poll, adding a new populr character everytime.

I mean everytime you come here, you see guys just post pics of visually appealing stuff or half the characters they actually wouldnt put $800 on. So how about making things a little organised?

The way I see it, there is serious interest at the moment on two figures:

Travis Bickle and Patrick bateman. Either some of you guys can you know focus on what you really want. Because honestly In that way this thread can actually be beneficial in ways. Plus maybe avoid all the unnecessary fiasco that happened with guys accusing Rainman of listening to his 'favourite fans' or yielding to constant hammering of PMs by certain members to get their own grail.

I know initially there was a Poll made where Marty came to fruition. But David lost out Narrowly. Maybe this time members can be a little more patient and you know the top two most popular be considered (if their votes are close enough) they may be solicited to rainman as the next two fans want etc etc

Just my opinion to make this thread a little more meaningful and fulfilling instead of being everyman's scrapbook for posting pics :wave

Personally, I never created this thread truly intending for it to narrow down choices for "the forum membership" to present to Rainman as the most popular options for future figures. It came out of all the derails of his other threads (which of course, still goes on ) and was meant to be a fun outlet to allow folks to just think of all the crazy characters we would like to see Rainman take on. Even the Marty poll didn't seem to be what drove the character being made, but Shortround PMing Rainman and ZKulptor so that they mutually agreed to that project getting done. Obviously that poll had limited utility to Rainman anyway if the 2nd place choice was considered unfit for a regular release and had to be commissioned as a one-off.

Some folks take a more hands on approach and are able to get Rainman's ear, but that's never been my approach here. I would prefer to just let Rainman see all the different things we can come up with, and then, if he were interested, to let him choose from the huge menu of options based on what he is most interested in pursuing, of course, with a bit of an idea as to popularity when things get commented on multiple times. If he didn't ever look at this thread, then that's his choice, too! Maybe another custom artist would take a look and get an idea.

The poll thing has been done before, and that's cool if that's something you guys want to do. But again, I would personally prefer to just throw things out there and let the artist choose, or not choose, as he sees fit. eace

Kara, I totally understand your idea, but honestly I dont thing Rainman even comes here to see anything. Specially with the random pics thrown around its hard for him to even get an idea what is a pattern or what can be done.

The fact you mentioned that some members have a more direct line with him is also the reason I want it to be a more focused Rainman 'wishlist' thread. To avoid stuff/fiascos like what hapened with David, which I believe was a very unfortunate mishap. Neither would Teddy have to sell 3 of his grail pieces, nor would people have to be disappointed that David would not ever be offered by Rainman now.

A little focus can make people really 'believe' in this thread, and even Rainman can actually participate here more frequently maybe.

Also honestly this thread has been visited by lots of members who just make a collage of pics with no intention of dropping $700-$800 ever even if the characters are made. They are just guest appearances. These collages make it more difficult to show any focus to the artist too himself as he gets too muddled up and the real wants of the serious guys just dont end up happening.

Im just saying this to make it something more 'official Request for Rainman' than a place to post gifs, and pics and not comeback for another month...

The biggest thing that supports my idea is that if pushed enough and well by some members here, requests DO HAPPEN. As evident with Pee Wee Herman and even although a personal commission, David. Remember one of the reasons Teddy made the commission happen was because he thought that due to the lack of any FOCUS on the wants, David could maybe never end up being made. So what we need is focused wants, and we already have the best people to convey them to the artist.

I think this thread serves its purpose and even if rainman doesn't look at this thread there is plenty to learn from this thread. People throw ideas on the wall and some stick and some don't. What I've seen stick the most is Bickle and Bateman. So from this you can start a poll strictly between Bickle and Bateman and see what you get.
The power is in the numbers and if you get 15-20 people voting for Bickle then I think it will be hard for Rainman to ignore.

Keep this thread open because once these top two figures are made it will be on to the next figure and there are some good ones on here. You will also need some of Rainman's VIP customers to bless off on it as well.

Yes I am saying this thread should be open definately. But yes maybe show a little more focus and be organised as I said. The impact this thread can creat is huge. And it has the potential to be the most solid means of communication for us and the artist...
