I've been working on lightening up the coloring on the bird. The pic on the left is of the original from the movie that was auctioned off several years ago, and the one on the right is of the 3D rendering.

For those of you seeking alternatives, the 3D rendering is slightly off (more bulkier) in the front and on the shoulder. Also, the beak is not spot on.

I may decide to do some sanding in those areas, which would get it to be pretty close. On the other hand, unless you have the original pic right next to it, the 3D version is pretty close, and as a miniature, looks pretty good in Bogie's hands...

Ulli artist have refused to make bird, so , guys, we need Geronimo's or Fullmetal or other else options.

So, what's the cost for Geronimo's? I don't like the proportions, but if the price is right.. Why not..

Personally, I'd prefer Fullmetal's resin option. It's $50 and it would be a exact copy. I just don't know if we can get enough interest for that choice.

I paid $30 plus shipping

Here are few more pics of him holding the bird; it would be nice if it was exact, but looks real good anyway. I'm happy so far and I'm looking forward to the new sculpt!

I'm also ready for exact fullmetal copy.Maybe we can make list who wants render printed and who prefer Fullmetal sculpt?

Hardly anyone gives two ****'s about Bogart In the figure community, the focus is more towards owning 3 or 4 different Daniel Day Lewis figures and countless Star Wars Characters. I see it everywhere. Actors like Bogart, Clark Gable, Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda, and other 1930s - 1940s legends. or classic icons and actors from the 1950s like Frank Sinatra, Kirk Douglas, Burt Lancaster. Even guys like younger Marlon Brando, Paul Newman, Robert Redford. I don't see so much interest. And so The big names in the custom figure community are never going to tackle them simply because there is lack of interest in big money amounts.

I got around to suiting up my Sam. Dang that DiD suit was a pain to put on with all the buttons and button holes. But it looks really good and better than a lot of pics I've seen once properly fuzted.

I totally agree.. It's sad that there's not much love for the older movie icons.. I'm am thrilled that I've gotten some great classic heads/figures lately; Bogart, John Wayne, Paul Newman and Henry Fonda. I was always surprised how the Duke had so little of a fan base.

I always wished Hot Toys would have continued their Movie Icon series.. I still love my Dean and Brando figures..

Now I just need a Burt Lancaster to finish off my Professional's dio and I'll be content..

Blockbuster heroes is all people need :(
Superheroes, unhumans, no-acting need computer haracters is movie icons for new generation...
I hope we will show our favorite real art cinema to our childrens and they'll love it and will understand what is good and what is just one day "treasures"...

I agree Gido..! No need to sweat about what others do or don't like..if they only like superhuman computer images, so be it!

The nice thing (in this hobby) is that those of us that appreciate the classic movies and actors have many options to fulfill where we want to go with the hobby..instead of wishing for a larger mass or manufacturer to provide anything for us, we can rely on each other and our creativity to make things happen..

By the way, any updates on the sculpt?

I was on the fence about this because of the lack of consensus about the suit, but...ey, it's Bogart after all, so payment sent :)

Regarding the lack of interest about classic characters, it's a sad but true fact. However taking into consideration that it was more or less Star Wars the movie that created the blockbuster phenomenon and this hobby we still live in, it kind of makes sense that most collectors are either too young or not attracted to anything before that.

Having said that I'm going to be in the minority even within our small group, and say that the classic actor that I would love to add to my collection would be Jack Lemmon as C.C. Baxter from that masterpiece which is "The aparment". And that's definitely never going to be produced, even as a custom :lol

Look up Peter the Painter on the board. He does amazing customs of classic actors, very quickly, with excellent results, and if I may say, very reasonably.

He has done Cagney, Edward G Robinson, Bob Dylan sculpts for me among others, so I know he can do Jack Lemmon easily. Oh, he did Cary Grant and Jean Harlow for me as well :)

Also you can ask Waruna. He's very nice, open for any ideas and don't need a lot of people in interest list, if some characters are interesting to him to make.Real artist attitude.I've asked him to make Borgia-Irons and he was ready to make it even with few interesents, but surprisingly no one on our board want it except me...But I'm sure he'll be ready to make Lemmon too.
