Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

Hey guys,

To those people who've already signed up, are you people interested in a 2-part sculpt? That is the (sculpted) hair being detachable from the head. There are mainly 2 advantages to this, 1) It will be much easier to paint. 2) You can remove that sculpted hair and add rooted hair of your own. The downside is that it could be more expensive.

Personally for mine, I was planning on using the Phicen hair by cutting off the parts of the Phicen and gluing it onto the sculpt, since the Phicen heads are made out of soft plastic so that should be a piece of cake.

I'm currently finalizing the design ideas with Sean so please, let your opinions be known! :duff

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

I'm fine with the detachable hair. Actually that would be preferred because I will likely want the rooted hair swap-out. I'm still in for a regular and battle damaged looks.

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

I'm good for either way. I wasn't planning on switching out for rooted hair but that doesn't mean I wouldn't want to in the future.

Thanks for the input guys. I would like to future-proof the head to add some DIY wigs as well, so Sean asked me to ask all of you what will be the base head and he'll run with what the majority agrees on.

I just got an email from Sean as well, it seems that we can cut the cost of the 2-part sculpt sculpt by having the same design of sculpted hair for both the normal and BD heads instead of two separate designs. Besides, I don't think sculpted BD hair would look good by any standards.

On a side note, I think there will be a variation between the facial expressions of the normal head and the BD head, as we don't want the same looking face with just an endo slapped on.

I'm normally against rooted hair, but I think it would work well for Cameron since her hair is about chest length and wouldn't look good sculpted.

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

Yeah, a two-part sculpt is fine with me. I think Cameron will eventually need some rooted hair, and you certainly get them from the Phicen figures.

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

twon-part is the best option in my opinion

Sounds OK to me but does this mean we are no longer going for this?

I wanna do THAT one :D

This man speaks the truth. :lecture

Hell no, we're not abandoning that! Since interest for the wigged heads isn't sufficient, we have to abandon the wigged option. Not all is lost, I think a DIY wig is the answer, hence why the 2-part sculpt proposition. No way sculpted hair would do the job for that look. The hair will still come sculpted, just in detachable 2-parts and probably standardized. What do you think, dev?

I wanna do THAT one :D

Thanks for dropping by, Sean. I have all the Endo head reference you need. :rock

Great, that's the one I want!

Same here!

We have 15 freaks so far, with most are getting both. If there are no objections, 2-part sculpt it is, DIY rooted hair.

I'll cool with whatever. I suspose the option to swap to rooted is probably better. Just looking forward to see some pics

Couldn't have said it better myself, certainly makes it future-proof, thanks sithlord. :clap

I can't wait to see the eventual progress either, as Sean's sculpts are the best there is IMO. Besides, it's a sausage fest with all them HT T-800 variations. :lol

also wanted to show you guys this

this was a head I sculpted and Raihmar painted and wigged, ith a wig we bought from a website we tried out. The wigs are a lot cheaper down this route and may be another way to go for summer

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

What's the new price with the 2 piece sculpt?

It sounds good but I might have to drop the painted option if it's a lot more. I do like the option though seeing the Katniss and unmasked Catwoman hair. I was assuming that the sculpt would be polystone or statue material. But if it's plastic like the Sideshow Baroness figure, I guess the sculpted hair could be good as I like the hair on Baroness.

Also, any previews or reference of what image we are going with for the normal sculpt? Things seem to be picking up and I would like to see what look the sculptor is going for before money is asked for.

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

I'm good with option to swap out for rooted hair later. I have another Cameron sculpt from a few years back that I did that with.

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

I guess it's ok for 2 if cost isn't too much.

Sounds like a plan, Sean. It seems so far that most freaks would prefer rooted hair, a cost effective solution you suggested sounds like the way to go if it's viable.

The reference images are from the ones from the first post, with a neutral expression for the normal head:

And a slightly more menacing expression for the BD, most definitely this one:

Of course, I have TONS more reference images for the sake of accuracy. It took me a LONG time and was a pain to get them all, as it involved everything from searching online to doing screen capture of the show. One for the team! :lol

As for the cost, Sean will most assuredly get back to us when he could have everything assessed.

Good to know!

Yeah, naturally we're trying to keep it as low as we could, hence why the outfit was dropped as soon as I got word from the tailors.

Although Cameron wore plenty of outfits and it wouldn't be hard to put something together, I kinda wish the outfit option was still in play. Might have tocontact Gee Whiz myself. They did my Sarah outfit.

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

I definitely need my head sculpt painted, too. No skill in that or hair swapping or any customizing. Hell, I can barely get a suit on my custom Hannibal figure and I broke several things on customizing a Wolverine. I am simply sucktacular.

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

I like the idea of a 2 piece head which would allow a wig to be fitted onto it.
