List updated! :duff

And Sean, that's a phenomenal head-sculpt of Dany.

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

Well I am not much of a fan of wigged heads. It's just not my thing. I know a lot of people are and more and more people are all the time. It's a matter of taste. What does impress me is a beautiful, intricate and interesting head of sculpted hair and for me that is what sculpting the head in two pieces allows. Hair that is its own piece gets to hang and flow more like natural hair. It is free of many molding and sculpting obligations and can instead be a showoff piece that the sculptor does. I've always found that sculptors who are allowed to cast the hair separately turn in a more interesting finished product. Just logistically they are more free to represent the hair.

On painting: I don't know if a sculpt coming in two parts is "easier" to paint but it certainly is more rewarding as the end results are always better. Always.

So the only draw back would be how it affects the price and I figure that has more to do the casting process. Not being familiar with who is casting the pieces and what their part is, I can only guess what it will add. But so long as the final hair piece is as fabulous as Summer Glau deserves, I think it would be probably worth it.

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

Although Cameron wore plenty of outfits and it wouldn't be hard to put something together, I kinda wish the outfit option was still in play. Might have tocontact Gee Whiz myself. They did my Sarah outfit.

Wow! That's one heck of an investment. But I'm with ya, I too would have commissioned a screen-accurate outfit at that price in an instant if it were up to me, but no way does that makes this project "cost effective". I'll just settle for an accurate headsculpt for now.

I definitely need my head sculpt painted, too. No skill in that or hair swapping or any customizing. Hell, I can barely get a suit on my custom Hannibal figure and I broke several things on customizing a Wolverine. I am simply sucktacular.

I wouldn't worry about that too much, even if the project is done we're all sticking around here to discuss on putting the completed figure together. I would love to see everyone's completed figure being posted here someday.

I like the idea of a 2 piece head which would allow a wig to be fitted onto it.

Awesome!

An insight like that is exactly what we need, thanks Brent! :clap

On a side note, I asked Solidus to update the list to mark those who would prefer the 2-part sculpt but it doesn't mean that's set in stone, as it all depends on how much they would cost in the end. Ideally the head would come with a 2-part sculpt so we all can do whatever we want with it and as GDB said, an independent hair sculpt will allow the aesthetics to shine, but the downside to that is that it would cost more.

Sean also might come up some other alternatives so we'll wait it out.

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

I guess I wasn't clear that I'm okay with the two part sculpt. Please update the list.

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

yes, the two part is fine. WIll be easy enough to use a Phicen style hairpiece and mod it to look like her

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

The reference images are from the ones from the first post, with a neutral expression for the normal head:

As for the cost, Sean will most assuredly get back to us when he could have everything assessed.

I thought that was just a this is Cameron set of images. I wanted to see the main "hero" look I guess that the sculptor was using for reference. I guess I want to make sure that we don't get a Black Widow Winter Soldier sculpt that looks good from certain angles but not straight on.

I'm surprised there still isn't more interest. Does everyone have the previous version?

Great! Yeah, that was what I had in mind if I were to mod the hair, it's not difficult at all.

Sorry, I should clarify- we're not going for that picture per se, but the more neutral look she has on the show and what you would expect a Terminator to have. Nothing too expressive. Like I said, I have tons more of screenshots from many angles. The reason I had Sean as the top person in mind is because he's the only guy Solidus and I think would be good enough to pull off this project, judging from his past work.

As for why this project hasn't gotten enough interest, I have no idea. Your guess is as good as mine BUT I did came to realize recently that a huge number of folks on SSF haven't seen the series or never gave it a chance. Maybe that would explain it?

Anyway, perhaps this is a better representation of the facial expression of the normal sculpt:

Cool. Hopefully this will turn out better than the other version.

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

I'd think that the normal HS would have Firefly fans jumping at the chance to get a great Summer Glau HS. Too bad a couple people got ****** about it being posted in the other thread.

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

Can't wait. Been rewatching the show recently. Damn it was good

Which version are you referring to?

Yeah, that came out of nowhere. :dunno

I finished rewatching the show after 3 years mostly for screen capturing purposes and I have to say the show is just excellent. So many great ideas that no live action movie could ever explore, like Weaver's motivations, John Henry, Kaliba Group and the Greys. We also saw John Connor became John Connor when he finally made tactical decisions that was beyond those around him. Without a doubt, TSCC is THE successor to T2.

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

I saw a trevor sculpt for sale on eBay a couple of weeks aGo but it way expensive and I wasn't that impressed by it. It's good but I think things are constantly moving on and what www great just a few years ago ain't now

Looking forward to seeing this one.

Ref the program so much better than t3 and t4. Gutted it was cancelled. I'll love it if they did a comic book or novel sequel just to let us have it finished properly. - cause I guess there's no hope of reviving tv series now

What happened and what's the other thread?

The Trevor Grove one. Maybe it's the paint jobs because the sculpt itself is good as usual for his sculpts.

I wish I liked the show as much as you guys. I think the two original movies probably won't ever be topped. 3 and 4 are forgettable. The TV show has it's moments. I liked the characters more than the story. At times I felt that the budget and writing for renewals and cliffhangers removed any real energy from the show. I remember writing reviews about it on the SF I think.

There are a trilogy of books set after Terminator 2. I read the first one and it was pretty good. I think that was the best continuation of Terminator 2. Although no one that I've seen noticed that in Terminator 2 one of Arnold's arms most likely wasn't completely destroyed in that large gear. It's something I kind of want to ask James Cameron about.

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

I would prefer the 2 part sculpt and standardized hair. I would like to add my own rooted hair or wig anyway.

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

I have the Trevor set of heads and I think they are great. Just thinking a wig version could fit in very well.

Re: Terminator: TSCC - Cameron (Summer Glau) Normal/Battle Damaged headsculpts [sdabb

I own the battle damaged Trev sculpt painted by SilentSurfer but I'm intrigued to see some sample pics of this. May jump on this for a separate figure with a different look.

Hey do you have a good picture of them?

Any news guys?

Hey guys, so far there hasn't been anything noteworthy to report aside from that we're definitely gonna go with a two-part sculpt for futureproofing the heads. I haven't gotten word on pricing nor a glimmer of what kind of window we're looking at, but (IMO) it might take awhile since Sean has a lot of projects on his plate.

But in the meantime, everyone feel free to drop in to discuss on head ideas and such. :duff
