Incredible work! Definitey down for a sculpt :rock :rock :rock

Re: The angry maul sith, by Jim m new wip pg7

Looks great so far! Can't wait to own this.
I do have to say that I don't see much resemblance to Ray Park in the sculpt at the moment, although I can't really put my finger on why. Maybe it's the eyes? Either way, he looks great.

Maul had several variations of the makeup during filming. I chose the asymmetrical one that showed up most often in print and the duel of fates scenes.
I hope you guy like him.

That is amazing so glad u did this I this is a go. I think the grooved would be the way to go for painting purposes chime in guys let us know.

Re: The angry maul sith, by Jim m new wip pg7

Im not a painter so my opinion doesn't really matter in this case but id think that'd be perfect for painters, easy template to follow and stay within straight lines.

Re: The angry maul sith, by Jim m new wip pg7

Sooo down for this. So down I would have to bash a whole new figure. Grooved seems better in my opinion.

Re: The angry maul sith, by Jim m new wip pg7

No, please no sculpted grooves! That will kill the realism and look weird.
I'm an amateur painter myself and succeeded to paint the make up on an SS sculpt without any guidelines, so it shouldn't be a big problem for a pro.

Super pumped for this sculpt!

So let's go smooth I think we can make it work. So we're a go on this sculpt I need to talk to jim to find out about payment.

Thanks for supporting this project, and I can't wait to work with jim on some more future projects.

:yess: While it wouldn't stop me from buying, adding the grooves would put a serious dent in my excitement. With time and patience, the tattoos can be painted on, and if you don't feel confident enough, any pro should be able to handle it.
Plus, without the grooves, everybody can choose the make up style they personally prefer (since it varied quite a bit in the movie).

Here's my work on the SS Maul sculpt that I modified last year, just to get an idea (horns were still unpainted in the last shot):
