Absolutely! But what's your favourite iconic scene from the French Connection? The one memorable scene that represents everything that's great about the movie?
I've just re-watched the film last night in honour of this conversation ( it's just stoked up my interest again).
Is it :
1). Popeye dressed in a Santa Claus suit and Buddy chasing a suspect across a wasteland in Brooklyn?
2). Hackman waking up & lifting his head up from the bar?
3) Any cold exterior stake-out scene ?
4). Jumping on and off the tube?
5). That infamous car chase, staged for real?
6). Shooting that assassin in the back?
7). That final, haunting gunshot when Hackman has crossed the line and is just shooting at shadows?

Or is there something else that I have missed?
Let me know. I just knew that Hoosiers would be mentioned sooner or later. A great, underestimated film.

You would have thought that somebody would have released a decent Hackman head sculpt by now - especially since he was the best Lex Luthor in any Superman film( and I'm discounting the Mattel figure which I already have).

All of the above!
