Like Wolverine, his eyes I think were always meant to be brown, but artists/devs kept making them blue for some reason. I'm looking it up and it looks like it's been debated for years on random forums :lol

I don't know why, but Capcom desaturated the hell out of the colors in REmake, which is why Jill's outit is grey instead of blue. I'm gonna do some more research.

oh ok, ya true I would say lets do it a blue-ish grey like the remake version, eye color can always change hence its brown in re5 and hes much older also then when remake took place.

also I think he had a bio in re psx version manual if you can check that , im working at the moment or I would.

You're right, Chris's eyes are brown in RE5, and obviously blue in CV. You're also right about REmake Chris having blue-grey eyes. Looks like Hot Toys went with blue-grey for the RE5 head sculpt, therefore, that's what I want for this one.

He had blue eyes in the PS1 RE1, but that's no longer canon anyway. But yeah, I'd like to go with the blue-grey eye color for this sculpt similar to the Hot Toys one I posted.

Also, does the 8-bit painted skin tone seem a bit tan to you? Does it match the same paleness of a TTM-19 or is it the lighting?

My thoughts exactly...not sure if it's the eyebrows or what, but he seems happy or content when painted. Definitely don't want a happy looking Chris :lol

Looks a hundred times better now. Is this final or are there more touches to be added like making the eyes blue-grey? Also, are his eyes centered? They seem like they're looking to the right/at an angle a little bit.

much better but I do not see Chris

what is striking:
- narrow eyes (like squinting) I do not know is that painting or sculpt,
- pupils are very small, should be increased by half,
- as already Brandoloneus wrote - eye color should be changed to blue-grey,
- need to draw lips plumper, facial expression will change
- need a photo with ttm19 head (to compare color)
- hair looks like a big dark spot, I do not see Chris hairstyle (which was discussed for so long :)
- the hairline on the forehead should be slightly higher
- eyebrows should be a little wider and shade them a little
- ears also catch the eye as two white spots

I apologize for my English, “google translate” - bad assistant :)

I think better to raise this topic, maybe someone else would be interested.
Guys what do you think about the revised version?)

You should go to the thread I gave you to help us talk directly to the painter!

Here's what I posted in 8-bit's thread:

thanks man :)

chris redfield revised

sculpt: JP

Looks much better!

Something seems like it's still off or missing though. Can't quite place it, maybe it's the eyebrows or mouth?

Also, I seem to be the only one who cares enough to make sure it looks perfect before we get it. No one else gonna help a brotha out?

So I already let 8-bit know, but after comparing and studying the paint job against in-game shots, I've determined that his irises and eyebrows are small and that's what's throwing off the whole image.

Anyone agree? He's finalizing the sculpt and is very busy with other things, we need to hurry up and fix this before he finalizes it or worse, grows impatient.

I'm no photoshop expert, but here's a photoshop I did; made the irises and eyebrows larger/wider. PS on left, actual on right:
