Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set

Great idea!!! Who is going to sculpt the head?

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set

Please put me down for this one.

Finally some nice Wrestling customs! Awesome!

It would be so amazing to have a few 1/6 guys on the shelf. Not the whole Raw roster but some of the big names.

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set

This will be good. The body you have the outfit on might be big,but no body out there matches Bret's body proportions perfectly. With the Leather Jacket on a TTM19 it would look just about right i think. The TTM20 Arnold body actually does have the closest match to Bret's body proportions, only just too damn big so it wouldn't work :lol

You can always have someone modify a body off course.

I always wanted figures of my two all time favourites HBK and Macho Man so if that happens sometime,Im all in.

People tend to forget that Bret was extremly buff in is prime. He was billed at 234 pounds with a height of 6 foot. Whoever ever met him in person knows that he was indeed that much. Especially his arms and chest were massive and very pronouncing (is this correct english?).
This being said - I assume we are looking for a jacket on look -, we are searching for a body that will contribute to his fitness level without looking too buff with the jacket on. And most important: it has to be a body with attatched neck.
Summed up, I would suggest a DX10 body. The arms of a DX10 body look perfect in the Terminator leather jacket and still have alot of articulation. The chest is also pretty good in my eyes. :)

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set

He was,but i always questioned their weight.Surely they must have added a couple of pounds to their original weight.Take HBK for example. After his return in 2002 they had him at 225 pounds which i highly doubt he was.

A - I'm definitely in for this! I am down for any 80s-90s wrestlers for that matter.
B - I agree this is perfect body. We all know the leather looks great on it and still has a diesel look too.

Now the question I have is do the belts from the wwe elite figures fit on these bodies? Brets gotta have a belt, either Tag, IC or the eagle World!

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set

Just got back from axxess, bummed that there wasn't much Bret stuff, but there was a really good poster from Wrestlemania X that featured this outfit.

I heard back from treedesign (Yunsil) she said she could do the outfit as long as I do a minimum 10 orders, but I need to confirm the details. We can figure out the body when we're getting closer to starting the commission, but as soon as I get a sculptor to jump on board we can get the ball rolling on things and make a decision.

I'm interested.

Got you down brother!

I caught one of the two Undertaker/HBK matches live. Awe-inspiring stuff.

I'd recommend both, I really enjoyed their work. The cage match with Triple H was bad either.

Great idea!!! Who is going to sculpt the head?

Not sure yet, I've reached out to sdabbs and inigou, I'll see who's up to do it.

Please put me down for this one.

Got you down brother! The more wrasslers on the shelf, the better! I was considering Owen as a companion piece.

Awesome, got you down on the list. sdabbs did a wicked WCW belt for me which looked great on an mfisher leather belt, I wonder if we should get this as part of the set.

Being from Calgary, I'm interested!

I figured I could count on the board's Calgarians! The Hart Foundation 97 8 man tag match in Calgary is one of my all time fave matches.

I'm interested!

Got you down brother. Now we have at least 10 interested so I'll get this thing rolling.

I know that they usually add some weight and height. However I met Bret in person and remeber him being extremly buff. Same btw for Chris Jericho. He was pretty much my size, but his arms were looking like my leg and I am doing sports all my life.

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set

Just looked at my collection and wanted to give some input for the sculpt:

I think that Bret Harts likeness is one of the toughest out there. I cannot remeber any figure made of the Hitman that had a perfect likeness. Most of them were with a terrible expression (like exagurated smiling). Also in videogames his likenes is usually one of the weaker ones.
To achieve a good likness I believe there are these things essential:

1.) The hair! Most if not all headsculpts I have seen so far tend to have too much volume. Bret used wet-gel for his hair in his active career. This will also effect the skull form as the hair should run flat to the back.
I have to sculpts in mind that are capable to achieve that effet: No. 1 - and my favorite - is HT Thor TDK. It has sculpted hair that matches perfectly Bret Harts look and shoult be provided to the sculptor for reference. No. 2 would be DAM Toys Machete featuring real hair. However I believe a sculpted hair like Thor would look best if painted right.

2.) The expression! Bret sculpts tend to look silly as soon as they have any kind of special expression. Lets agree on a general expression that is not too extreme (HT style :lol ).

3.) The age! Bret has evolved over the last years. If you take reference pics, these need to be from the specific period. His face became thicker over the time. Also certain events in his life look to have changed his appearence (he aged alot during 1995-2000, for obvious reasons).

BTW: Just found my good old Hitman shades yesterday evening. I might go into it and build a 1/6 copy to go with this set. :)

If you met Bret in person then i won't debate you on that one :lol
Off course,it depends who they went up against.HBK looked smaller next to most of his opponents like Razor Ramon,Psycho Sid,Vader,Diesel,Hogan,Undertaker,Cena,Triple H etc so it's easy to believe that he is smaller than he actually is too.

I believe Brets height is billed pretty accurate (lets not talk about Jericho here :lol ). But that wasnt my point: both of them had massive arms when I met them (I was really surprised because I didnt expect them to be so hughe). I believe they simply looked smaller because of all those other guys back than like Hogan and Scott Steiner (still wonder how he washes his back :dunno )...

HBK lost some wait too. Compare his older matches (with Marty as The Rockers or Heel HBK), with his time in D-X and his last run when he got a bloody cut in every match. His arms have lost mass over the years too. Guess this is pretty normal btw. :lol

While I would be on board for every Hart family member, he wouldnt be my no 1 choice. Definitly a must have, but Id rather go for a Ric Flair, British Bulldog or Curt Henning next. However I believe this is just a matter of personal preference.
Also a Hart Foundation (stable) set up has always been my dream.

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set

Next to Bret figure in my collection, I'd love to have Jake The Snake Roberts. Bret is my all time favorite wrestler and next to him it'd be Roberts. But for an ideal showcase, Shawn Michaels should be next to Bret. I feel that their feud was the biggest and the best in the history of Wrestling.

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set

I've met jericho a couple years ago. He looked bigger in person for sure than he does on TV. I met bret a few months ago and he looked regular not too buff bit of course he's an old guy now. He looked bigger than Chris in his prime.

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set

I always thought of Bret as a smaller guy, but I think my perception was based on his ring style and that singlet made him look smaller as well (I remember thinking Scott Steiner wasn't a huge guy either and he wore something similar).

I've also met Bret in his prime, he was a pretty buff guy (much bigger than a lot of the current wrestlers that I saw yesterday at axxess).

Bret's look is very hard to capture. I think the mistake that mattel and jakks sculptors did was go off images they pulled from the internet. They probably used those in studio promo pictures which really didn't look like him much (he tends to look bloated and style his hair differently then his in ring look).

I agree about the neutral expression, smiling or smirking wouldn't look right.

I think 1994-1996 is a really good age for Bret. He's still young, but he has enough character in his face for sculptors be able to work with (I think younger sculpts tend to be harder to capture).

Reference pictures are really key for Bret than most people. I was going to pull images from tv and ppv rather than promo studio pics (he tends to look bloated and his hair is styled strangely in them) for the sculptor. Here's an example of a bad in studio promo pic, I don't see the hitman in this pic (hair is wrong, too much makeup, he has a strange expression). I think one of the Jakks sculpts was based on this pic:

Here's a video from the summer of 1997, this look isn't far from 1994 and you really get closeups of his face. You can see that Bret just does better on video and in action shots, his still picture posing ability wasn't the best there is, was and ever will be :lol This video would probably give us the best Bret likeness, but he does look a little older here:

Here's a video from 1994 where he is younger, I was thinking 1994-95 is where I would pull most of the images. I think the video above can help the sculptor with reference points. The hair in this video below is off though (I liked his match hair better, he would just wet it and go, here he styles it and it looks strange):

Here's the inring hair I'm referring to that will look great on the sculpt, pulled back with a few stray hairs down the temples, looks like a total badass here:

Got you down Ray, glad to have you on board!

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set

If it were '80s Hart Foundation Bret, a smirk would be the best expression IMO. But if you're going for singles competition Bret from the '90s, a neutral expression, or more genuine smile would be more appropriate, and of the two I would rather a neutral/focused expression, imagining him prepping to face off against Stone Cold or HBK.

And I would totally be in for mid-90s style Owen. He was my favorite wrestler in this period. He should come with Slammy accessories, of course.
