Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set

Just waiting on hearing back from a sculptor then I'll get the outfit rolling with Yunsil. Hopefully I hear back soon as I want to get this project rolling asap.

If it were '80s Hart Foundation Bret, a smirk would be the best expression IMO. But if you're going for singles competition Bret from the '90s, a neutral expression, or more genuine smile would be more appropriate, and of the two I would rather a neutral/focused expression, imagining him prepping to face off against Stone Cold or HBK.

And I would totally be in for mid-90s style Owen. He was my favorite wrestler in this period. He should come with Slammy accessories, of course.

Agreed on the neutral expression brother, the nice thing about singles Bret is you could still do a decent Hart Foundation version if you want to.

I think he would look great with Owen, yes, a slammy would be fantastic.

Please put me down!

Got you down brother.

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set

For Owen though, either a huge frown or screaming, whiny sculpt would seem best :D

"What about meeeeeeee????"

Yes Owen is definitely a guy that would be better off with an expression rather than a neutral sculpt. Frowning or whiny faces would be great. A mean snarl or that sinister smile would be nice as well. Maybe the DX can be a battle damaged "spit on the side of the mouth" look from mania X:lol He's another guy who I'd have to pull reference pics from actual videos as his still photos don't really capture his spirit.

I was able to dig up some reference pics for the tights. I found that the jacket chains/fringe in the wwe 2k14 promo pic are a brighter silver in most of his matches (edit - on second look the wwe 2k14 pic is pretty accurate). Also, the pink is a lighter pink in reality.

She was able to do all the logos on that pink outfit she did for me so this should be fine. One thing I've noticed is that the flames look to be patches rather than iron ons. I'll ask if she could do it this way instead, but it's really hard to find reference pics that show what I'm talking about with this particular outfit. Really not sure how to explain this detail so I might need some help! You can see it on this pic and the WWE 2k14 pic as well.

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set

Though I wonder if iron-ons would be better in this scale. Thoughts?

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set

Iron-ons. Anything else will look too much out of proportion. I know what you refer to (is batchds have jeen glued on and not ironed on if I remember correctly), but we should keep it the way Yunsil did your first attire because it looks perfect.

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set

Ok guys, this thing is really moving pretty fast. sdabbs has agreed to do the sculpt. Yunsil has agreed to do the outfit. Once I secure boots then I will be contacting everyone for payment.

Yes, I agree. I think it would be too bulky if we did the patches.

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set - sdabbs and toribox/Yunsil

Are you going to collect full or partial payments or a deposit? Its moving faster than I thought and I didn't get a chance to put money aside for this.

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set - sdabbs and toribox/Yunsil

Once I secure the final element of the project (the boots), I'll figure out the payment schedule.

Sounds good. Thanks. :)

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set

Ok, heard back from Yunsil. She said she can do the shoes if I can produce the base (sole) for them. Any ideas on how I can make that happen? :lol Would really like her to make the boots for us, i think the fabric boots would look great for him. I just sent her a followup email to see if there's anyway she could make the sole for us too, but in case she can't please feel free to flood this thread with ideas.

I have no idea...wish I could help you out with that. Did you want a rubber or sculpted sole for the base?

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set - sdabbs and toribox/Yunsil

Seems like Robbiethepainter did something like that for the Pulp Fiction "dork" sandals. He's working on loads of projects, but something like that may be quick and easy for him.

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set - sdabbs and toribox/Yunsil

Or, hell, you could just buy a bunch of newline boots and remove the sole from the rest of the shoe!

I think I'm going to do something like that or I will buy a bunch of 12 inch mattel figures and shave the base off.

For Yunsil to make those boots, it'd be 110% worth it!

I took a shot in the dark asking if she could do them and she said no problem, just have to get the base. The mattel figures are rotocast so it won't be hard to do. I'm going to walmart tomorrow to pick a few. I'll work on them this week and hopefully send the body and the bases over to her soon.

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set - sdabbs and toribox/Yunsil

The Mattel boots are way out of proportion (they are a little wide I think) if I remember correctly. It would be better to either score a HT Rocky/Apollo/Clubber/Drago pair of boxing boots, or simply ask Sean if he could do one for us.

Edit:

The Newlone boots wont work either as they have a sole for outdoor boots. Boxing/wrestling boots have a flat thin sole as you can see in the pic posted by tbay.

Re: Bret "The Hitman" Hart H&C set - sdabbs and toribox/Yunsil

Can I give a suggestion? Why do not you pick up some hottoys boots sole and then recast them? It will be easier. Say flat sole, would be Tony Stark or Barney boots? Just saying.
But it is not going to be easy because you need the peg....

The mattel boots are a better option than the Rocky boots. The Rocky boots are way too narrow and thin. The length of the Rocky and the Mattel boots are exactly the same. The mattel boots are also more narrow than the boots I use for my current Bret figure.

Sean is willing to sculpt the boots, however I think the fabric boots are a nicer option. Sizing sculpted boots can be an issue. They end up having to be sculpted really thick because you have to be able to tuck the boots into the sculpt so they look a bit out of scale. The fabric boots would be more in scale and Yunsil can fit the outfit to the boots.

I'll explore other options of course, but right now I don't see a better one. The maximum aggression boots would probably be best, but they would cost way too much, unless someone can cut the soles off and recast them.
