Clothing set Yunsil [TORIBOX] Raiders Indiana Jones Re-run

Hey guys, quick update I need your feedback on.

Yunsil has begun gathering the material for the run, but she has run into an issue with the fabric for the pants. Apparently while the same type of fabric is available, the exact color used in the first run is not.

Below is an image of the new fabric she's proposing. As you can see, it is a bit darker.

Is anyone adamantly opposed to this fabric selection? This was not a decision I was going to make unilaterally.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Though I missed out on this, that darker, more taupe color, looks good to my eye.

Hard to tell but it doesn't look bad, for me it would be ok.

If it's the same in color in terms of the original pants but a bit darker I'm 100% good with it. The original pants color sometimes looked like a lighter khaki and in Raiders depending on the lighting or Shade Indy was in it looked dark stone gray. I'm sure however it would be better to see completed pants using this new colored fabric to get an idea of how it looks in light.

I'm confused......that ORIGINAL swatch doesn't look like the original Yunsil pants. That's a lot darker and the NEW is darker again.

What's going on here?

That's not lighting, it looks totally different.

TBH I think the original pants were a little too light in colour so a shade or two darker would be good, but that doesn't look like the original fabric to me. Also as said, it's too hard to tell from a tiny swatch as opposed to seeing it on a figure in pants form.

Thanks for the feedback, I’ll ask Yunsil to triple check that the fabric she’s referencing as the original is in fact the original. There’s no doubt the color looks different in her pics than the in hand pic, but lighting can affect pictures more than we realize sometimes.

The alternative to getting this colour wrong is there will be 100 unhappy customers.
I wouldn't think it unreasonable to mock up a quick version of the pants and put them on a figure. You could leave off the major details, pockets etc, just something to show what it looks like on a figure.

Remember we all signed off to it being exactly the same as prior, if it's not then for the money paid, it would want to be correct or acceptable.

She has an entire team ? I did not know that? I assumed she was one woman madly trying to sew 100 outfits. Are the others one person operations ? Kato, Iris etc....?

Kato is a one man show. Iris I think is too. Yunsil has had a team for some time now.

Sweet at least we will see how it looks complete and we can go from there. If it looks like it does in Raiders when it looks darker shade I'm ok with it.

From Yunsil:


Fabric - That is same material as original. New material is also same it's just different with color.

mock-up(=prototype) - sorry. There is no prototype in your order.
If you order additional prototypes, the additional cost and mass production schedule will be changed.


So either we can trust her and chalk it up to lighting, or we can wait until something the exact same color becomes available.

This is a pic of my Indy with Yunsil pants. To my eye the pants don’t look the same color as the picture of the sample swatch she sent that represents the original color. That being said, I don’t think there is any reason not to trust her. Lighting really can make a huge difference in how colors look.
