Jeff posted the step by step a few pages back.

You need to remove the ankle peg 'receiver' from a HT foot and slot this into the cut out hole in the boot.

Then just plug the legs w/ankle pegs into it.

Yes but I also found it difficult to slot in until I had snipped off the excess 'flashing' which is still apparent on yours.

Just trim the section you can foresee slotting into the boot.
