Hey guys, would there be any interest for a Mads Mikkelsen Kaecilius head sculpt? I posted some WIP pics just for fun in the Dr Strange MMS thread and it was mentioned that i should start an interest thread. I could also adapt it into a TV series hannibal, but the market for those is already dominated by those with far superior skills to me.
The head sculpt would be unpainted resin casts in 1/6 scale, as the colour printing tech is too expensive to use at this scale. The 1/12 version will use the colouring tech in the spirit of the Tamashii Nations S.H. Figuarts figures (Star Wars, Marvel, Bruce Lee, Suicide Squad, now even WWE). I'm considering using the head for a full SHF custom, using the mace windu body, custom arms (sculpted over something), and the marvel legends mordo/strange skirt piece. It would look awesome with the tamashii purple flames.
I haven't seen the film just yet so i don't know how much impact Kaecilius has (please don't spoil :lol) , and whether people like him enough to want a figure of him, but i love the way this guy looks so i decided to make him.
The sculpt is NOT finished, i've only been working on it for a few days and it's only my 5th (i think) sculpting attempt ever. But i may as well attach pics to prove it actually, you know, exists and isn't just a concept. The likeness needs some tweaking but it's getting close. The facial features and hair will be much more refined and detailed once it's finished. The eye effects will be sculpted, as of now they are just painted on to help me get the feel for the look.
And i may as well ask here, anyone that's seen the movie, is the ponytail thing i've depicted on my version accurate? Are there any metal bands, intricate knots or something in his hair?
PICS: Please note these were taken at varying times, so there are minor changes between the images as i've been tweaking the likeness constantly.
