Just to prove what I am talking about, here's a quick Photoshop (Oh no! Not another one...I know...lol) comparison:

I really hope it helps out, it just shows you how even a bit of dodgy proportions in the paint app can make a huge difference in terms of likeness. Like I mentioned before, all I did was neutralize the shadows and highlights, turned the iris/pupils larger and hazel, and I lightened up some of the brow hair. They're small differences, but I think they make a huge impact.

This Indy sculpt is amazing!!! Wish I could take some pics of it in my studio :)

Unpainted pics, as promised! Granted there is some lens distortion, but hopefully those breathing into a paper bag can put it down, now.

Complete faith in the sculpt. Glad I bought it unpainted. Marf thank you for this updated time to buy a second one.

Those pics of the unpainted cast have been digitally manipulated, guys.

APRIL FOOLS!!!!!!!

I bought a painted all ready due to the extreme wait times on the best popular choices of Sculpt Painters, but I really think MJ nailed Butcher and Willis. I have a feeling in hand these will still be amazing painted by him ( or whoever does it). Will it be the best you can get.....probably not, but I think it will be a great piece of art to display, I might even grab an unpainted to hold on too.

Are y'all super sure the nose isn't different from the original sculpt? In the picture below (at least to me) it appears different. The bridge of the nose on the cast is pinched (arrow) and the nose appears more crooked. The cast (middle) is identical to the painted sculpt, I believe.

Once again, look at the shadows. On the first pic, the area you point at is shaded by the forehead. In pictures two and three, the light comes from a different direction. As a result, the nose in the first appear shorter and less pinched.

Well I think casting distortion can't be to blame for apparent issues with the painted sculpt. Could be it just looks better in-hand, but I'm guessing that once again we're going to have a situation where the unpainted Ford sculpt just looks better. However, with all the newer pics we've seen, I think I'll be ordering this now.

Actually I'd say the cast head looks much closer to the original sculpt (thankfully).

Not sure what went wrong with the painted version, but hopefully it was just a matter of some bad lighting and lens distortion.

Unlikely MJ would choose a wonky sculpt for his paint prototype. I would assume that if you strip the paint off it would look more or less like the unpainted version. But again, this isn't the first time this has happened. Look at Grove's first unpainted SSC Indy sculpt, or some of his Solos, they almost always look way better than even the best painted versions, and they didn't seem to have major issues with distortion of the casts.

Though I should also say that it looks like every pic of the painted sculpt barring MJ's own blurry-ish one is highlighted by a bright spot of light on his nose, which is a bit distracting and probably gives off a deceptive impression.

Also, just to confirm, all unpainted casts will come with the head and hat separate for ease of painting. :duff
