Finally spent my weekend finishing the first castings on my Drake and Sully headsculpts and painted them. I tested out the technique shown by my friend Tatianna and really like how these heads turned out. There is very minimal painting on the skin since it's casted into the resin, but there is a lot of detail work to make up for the tones. It's harder to paint than my usual painting technique, but the results are quite stunning. The slightly translucent look plus the natural blending of the colors together make the heads look amazingly lifelike - at least in person that is.
Sully will probably finish up soon since Jen is finishing up his clothes and I just need to sculpt his revolver and make him a gun holster. Drake is still coming along nicely and the shoes are 90% done. Hopefully I can wrap up the two of them for a nice duo shot.

Wow!! Sully looks spot on and drake's 5 o'clock shadow looks incredible. Excellent job John.

Its an amazing paint job. HT quality easily.
But honestly im just not seeing the likeness in the sculpt at all. Other than the fact that its a guy with black hair and stubble, doesn't look like Drake.

In looking for references of Drake to sculpt, there are numerous renditions of him from the first game to the third. I'm sure many people can sculpt better than I can. This is only my 4th headsculpt.

darthkostis, I'm not sure on pricing yet for Sully. I keep adding more bits to him. Unlike Drake where we know what we want him to have. With Sully, I'm now sculpting his revolver and probably shoes too since I can't find anything that's suitable for him - and his gun holster too.
I definitely want to do a Kratos for myself and I know Jen's been bugging me to make her a Lara Croft next.
I haven't started Elizabeth yet since Swedishheat hasn't given me the go ahead. I hope we get more interest on Elizabeth though. She looks like a fun character to sculpt.

Glad to hear that kratos and lara are on your radar! SwedishHeat is trying to gather all the neccessary stuff about the dress,corset,etc so maybe that's why you haven't got the go ahead yet. I hope that when wip pics pop up more people will be interested.
